Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Head to Head" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a night-session match graphic on a stadium screen. Deep purple, two players' names in huge condensed caps facing each other, and a butterfly of bars growing out of a central stat column.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #1D1030 (deep purple) with two soft radial glows: #9B5DE5 at 28% from the top-left corner and #F9844A at 20% from the top-right corner, both fading to zero by about 75% of the width.
- Left side: #9B5DE5 (electric violet). Right side: #F9844A (warm orange).
- Primary text: #F6F1FF. Secondary text: #A594C2. Row dividers: #35224F.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Barlow Condensed for display: player names 800 50px with 1px letter-spacing; the seed as 700 17px inside a 30 x 24 px outlined box (1.5px stroke, 3px radius) in the side's color; "VS" 600 22px with 3px letter-spacing; score line 600 18px; title 700 30px centered; stat names 600 15px uppercase with 1.2px letter-spacing; values 800 22px for the better value and 500 19px muted for the other.
- Barlow 400/600 for the eyebrow (600 12px, 2.4px letter-spacing, centered), the explanatory subtitle (13px) and the source (12px).

Layout:
- 64px margins. Eyebrow centered at the top. Left player name at the left margin and right player name right-aligned at the right margin, each underlined by a 220 x 4 px bar in its color; "VS" and the score centered between them.
- Title and a one-line explanation centered below. Then eight rows on a 40px pitch starting at y 214, separated by 1px #35224F rules spanning the margins.
- The stat name column is 192px wide in the exact center; bars grow outward from its edges.

Axes and grid:
- No axes or gridlines. Each row is its own comparison: bar length is each side's share of the row total (value / (left + right)) times 330px, so bars stay honest across mixed units.

Marks:
- Bar chart: butterfly bars 22px tall with 3px corner radius, full color on both sides. The value prints 10px beyond each bar's outer end; the better value (lower for faults and errors) is bold white, the other muted #A594C2.
- Line chart: two 3px lines in violet and orange over time with 5px dots, the leader at each point marked with a larger bold value label; keep the facing names header and the centered title.

Avoid: a shared numeric axis across different stats, dimming a player's color to show the loser (use the value weight instead), gradients on bars, and more than the two side colors.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the bold value in each row is really the better one (watch the lower-is-better rows), the title's count matches, and long stat names fit the center column.
