Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Hall Footfall" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: event wayfinding signage. Each category owns a bold signage color, big letter roundels anchor the bars like hall signs, and a navy top band reads like the fair's lanyard.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Canvas: #FFFFFF. Top band: #102A43 (signage navy), also the ink for titles, values on light bars and the baseline.
- Category colors in order: #0E9AA7 (teal), #F47C20 (orange), #7B4FD6 (violet), #8CC63F (lime). Repeat the four-color stripe as a 6px band right under the navy top band, split into four equal parts.
- Secondary text: #5E6B7A. Gridlines: #E3E7EC.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Archivo Black for the title (31px, -0.3px spacing, navy, stating the finding), the event name in the top band (13px, 2.5px spacing, white), the value labels (24px) and roundel letters (30px).
- DM Sans for everything else: band dates 12px 700 uppercase with 2px spacing, white at 85%, right-aligned; subtitle 16px #5E6B7A; y labels 13px 500; category names 14px 700 navy; average pill 12px 700 uppercase with 1.2px spacing; source 12px.

Layout:
- Navy band from y 0 to 40, then the 6px color stripe. Title at x 56, y 100; subtitle at y 130.
- Plot from x 110 to 904, baseline at y 446, a 2px navy baseline.
- Under each bar, a 29px-radius roundel in the category color with a 4px white stroke, centered 40px below the baseline, holding the category letter in white (navy on lime). The category name 94px below the baseline, centered.

Axes and grid:
- Gridlines 1px #E3E7EC at round values, labels like "40k" right-aligned 14px left of the plot. No vertical grid.
- Average: a 2px navy dashed line (8 on, 6 off) across the whole plot, drawn over the bars, with a navy fully rounded pill (132 x 22) above the line over the last category reading "AVERAGE 41.7k" in white.

Marks:
- Bar chart: square-cornered bars 124px wide (about 63% of the band), each in its category color. Value labels in Archivo Black 24px inside the bar top, 36px below the bar's top edge, white (navy on lime).
- Line chart: one 4px line per category in the category colors with round joins, ending in the same letter roundel at its last point instead of a legend; the dashed navy average line and pill stay.

Avoid: gradients, shadows, rounded bar corners, a legend box (the roundels are the legend), pale or pastel versions of the signage colors, and text in lime.

When you're done, render the chart and check that value labels never touch the average line, the stated percent above average is right, letters on lime use navy, and the four-color stripe matches the category order.
