Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Green Speed" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a head greenkeeper's daily log. Deep forest background, fine mint lines for each measurement, a bolder average, a soft cream target band and quiet operational codes along the bottom.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #102418 (deep forest green).
- Individual series: #A8E6C1 (pale mint) at 1px, 38% opacity. Average or headline series: #E8F7EC at 3px over a 6px #102418 halo.
- Target band and event markers: #F3E6C4 (cream); band fill at 16% opacity with 0.8px edges at 50%; event columns at 4%.
- Text: #EDF3EE. Secondary: #8FA897. Gridlines: #1D3A28.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Crimson Pro 600 for the title (36px, stating the finding).
- Barlow for everything else: eyebrow 12px 600 uppercase with 2.4px letter-spacing in #8FA897; subtitle 15px; axis labels 13px; day numbers 13px (event days 700 in cream); code row 11px 600 with 0.6px letter-spacing; band label 11px 600 uppercase with 1.6px letter-spacing in cream; source 12px italic.

Layout:
- 48px margins. Eyebrow, title, subtitle at top. Plot from x 96 to 904 and y 164 to 454. Under the axis: a row of day numbers, a hairline, then a row of short maintenance codes (M, DM, R, MR, and an en dash for rest) with a key at the bottom left, a small line legend and source at the bottom right.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal 1px #1D3A28 gridlines with one-decimal labels at left; a 1px #8FA897 baseline. Row captions ("SEP", "WORK") in 10px uppercase at the left of the rows.
- Event days: a faint cream column behind the plot, an uppercase label above it, and a small flag icon on the axis at each event day (a 20px cream staff with a 9px triangular pennant).

Marks:
- Line chart: straight-segment lines. Label the first and key average points in 13px 600 with a 4px background-colored text halo (paint-order stroke), and mark them with r4 to r5 dots ringed in the background color.
- Bar chart: slim 1px-outlined mint bars at 38% fill opacity for individual values, with the average as a bold #E8F7EC 3px tick across each column; keep the target band, flags and code row.

Avoid: bright greens, heavy fills, a dual axis, drop shadows, cluttered legends.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the headline value really sits inside the band, the codes align under their days, and the halos keep labels readable over the thin lines.
