Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Gradient Brand" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a polished app's growth dashboard on a launch page. Dark ink-blue canvas, a single luminous violet-to-cyan series, soft glow, and crisp product UI details.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Canvas: #0B1026 (ink blue), plus a radial violet halo (#7B5CFF at 16% opacity fading to 0, centered at 78% x, 30% y, radius 60%).
- Series gradient: #7B5CFF (violet) at the first point to #34D1FF (cyan) at the last, applied horizontally in user space across the plot.
- White #FFFFFF for text (with opacity steps), gridlines and the label card. Card text #141A36.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Sora for everything.
- Headline 600, 30px, -0.8px letter-spacing, white, stating the finding.
- Subtitle 300, 14px, white at 66%.
- Axis labels 300, 12px, white at 55%.
- Wordmark 600, 16px; toggles 12px (600 active, 400 at 62% inactive).
- Card: date 600 10px uppercase with 1.2px tracking at 55%; value 600 22px; change chip 600 10.5px violet.
- Footer 11px, white at 45% to 60%.

Layout:
- 48px side margins. Top row at y 40: a 28px rounded-square (8px radius) wordmark placeholder filled with the violet-to-cyan gradient (diagonal) and a lowercase product name beside it; on the right, three pill toggles "1M", "6M", "1Y" (48 x 28px, 14px radius, 8px apart), the active one filled white at 14% with a 50% white stroke, inactive ones with a 16% white stroke only.
- Headline at y 128, subtitle at y 158. Plot from about x 88 to 880, y 244 to 500.
- Footer: "Source: ..." left and a one-line summary stat right at y 566.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal gridlines only, 1px white at 8% opacity (the zero line at 16%). No vertical axis line, no vertical gridlines, no ticks.
- Y labels right-aligned 14px left of the plot, abbreviated ("100K"); x labels centered 26px below the baseline.

Marks:
- Line chart: a monotone-smoothed 3px line stroked with the gradient, round caps. Glow: the same path at 6px, 55% opacity, blurred with a Gaussian of 7px (filter region covering the full canvas). Area: the region under the line filled with the same gradient and masked by a vertical fade from 34% at the top of the plot to 0 at the baseline. Final point: an 11px cyan halo at 18%, then a 5.5px white dot with a 3px cyan ring, and a dashed (2 on, 4 off) cyan drop line at 35% to the baseline.
- Bar chart: slim bars (about 40% of the band) with 6px top radii, each filled with a vertical violet-to-cyan gradient and a 6px blurred glow at 40% behind the last bar; earlier bars at 55% opacity so the latest bar leads. Same card on the latest bar.

Labels and annotation:
- A floating white card (176 x 64px, 14px radius) above and to the left of the final point with a small downward pointer, a drop shadow (0 10px, blur 14px, black at 45%), the period, the value and a violet chip (violet at 12% fill, 11px radius) showing the period-over-period change.

Texture:
- Subtle film grain over the whole canvas: fractal noise (base frequency 0.85, 2 octaves) turned white and drawn at 5% opacity.

Avoid: multiple series colors, vertical gridlines, axis lines, harsh neon, heavy grain, and cards that cover the line.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the gradient runs violet to cyan left to right, the glow is not clipped, the card clears both the line and the subtitle, and the change chip is computed from the last two values.
