Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Glucose Watch" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a smartwatch face on an OLED screen. Pure black, bright data, big confident numerals and nothing extra: glanceable in half a second.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background and screen: #000000. Screen outline: #1C1C1E, 2px, a rounded rectangle inset 40px left and right and 28px top and bottom with a 56px radius.
- In range: #34E07A (bright green). Above range: #FFB020 (amber). Below range: #FF4D4F (red). Primary text and the current-point ring: #FFFFFF. Secondary text: #8E8E93. Hour guides: #3A3A3C.
- Target band: #34E07A as a vertical gradient from 16% to 8% opacity, with its 70 and 180 edges as 1px #34E07A dashed 3 on 4 at 45% opacity.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Barlow for labels and Barlow Semi Condensed for the big numerals, tabular figures everywhere.
- Complication label 14px 600 uppercase, 1.6px letter-spacing, green, after a 5px green dot ("GLUCOSE · LUMO"). Current reading 72px 600 Semi Condensed white with "mg/dL" 17px 500 gray beside it and a trend arrow plus "-9 in 15 min" in 14px 500 gray.
- Time complication top right: 88px 500 Semi Condensed white, -2px letter-spacing ("10:05"), with the date under it in 16px 600 amber, 2px letter-spacing ("FRI 26").
- Title 20px 600 white stating the finding ("88% of the last 24 hours in range"); unit note right-aligned 14px 500 gray. Axis labels 13px 500-600 gray (the 70 and 180 labels green). Footer: 12px 600 uppercase gray labels with 1.4px letter-spacing over 18px 600 values colored by meaning.

Layout:
- Complications in the top corners, title row under them, the plot filling the middle (about 256px tall), y labels on the right, and a four-stat footer row ("IN RANGE", "AVERAGE", "LOW", "HIGH") with the source line right-aligned.

Axes and grid:
- No axis lines. Vertical hour guides every 4 hours, 1px #3A3A3C dotted 1 on 5, labelled "12A", "4A", "8A", "12P", "4P", "8P". Y labels only at 40, 70, 120, 180, 240.

Marks:
- Line chart: a 3px smooth line with round joins and a soft glow (Gaussian blur 4, merged under the stroke). Color it by value with three clip regions: green inside 70 to 180, amber above 180, red below 70. End on a hollow current point (r 7, black fill, 2.5px white ring). Label the high above its peak in amber and the low below its trough in red, 13px 600 ("206 high", "59 low").
- Event markers: meal icons as r 11 discs (#1C1C1E fill, 1px gray ring) with a white fork-and-knife glyph (1.3px strokes) sitting just above the baseline at the meal times.
- Bar chart: rounded bars (radius 6) colored by range the same way (green in range, amber above, red below) over the same translucent target band, with a 3px glow, value labels in the bar color.

Avoid: any non-black background, gradients on text, thin hairline type, more than the three status colors on data, and legends (the band and colors explain themselves).

When you're done, render the chart and check that the time-in-range percentage, average, low and high match the data, color changes happen exactly at 70 and 180, the glows aren't clipped, and nothing crowds the rounded screen edge.
