Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Glow Launch" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a beauty launch report for the leadership team. Dark plum, one warm rose gold line that glows softly, editorial annotations on hairline leaders.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #1E1220 with a radial wash toward #2C1A2E from the top right.
- Data: #E3A48B (rose gold). Annotation titles and leader lines: #F4D7CB (blush, leaders at 60% opacity). Secondary text: #9C8699. Gridlines: #34233A. Baseline: #5A4460.
- Title text: #FFFFFF.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Syne: title 32px 700 white over two lines; eyebrows 12px 700 uppercase with 3px letter-spacing; hero numeral 42px 800 with -1px letter-spacing in rose gold (Syne is very wide; size it so four digits and a comma sit inside the card with at least 20px to spare); annotation titles 12px 700 uppercase with 1.6px letter-spacing in blush; tick labels 12px.
- Newsreader italic (400) for the subtitle (16px), annotation notes (14px), the card caption (16px blush) and the source line (13px).

Layout:
- A numeral card in the top left: x 40, y 36, 232 x 146, 14px radius, rose gold fill at 8% and a 1px rose gold stroke at 45%; eyebrow, hero numeral and italic caption inside.
- Eyebrow, title and subtitle to the right of the card from x 304. Plot from x 88 to 912, y 236 to 508. Source bottom left, a small uppercase report tag bottom right.

Axes and grid:
- 1px #34233A horizontal gridlines with "1k" style labels; a 1px #5A4460 baseline; x labels "Day N" 24px below.

Marks:
- Line chart: 2.2px rose gold straight segments with a glow (Gaussian blur stdDeviation 6 merged under the source, filter region covering the whole canvas). Area below with a vertical gradient from rose gold at 22% opacity to 0. The first point gets an r 5 glowing dot.
- Bar chart: slim rose gold bars (2px gap), the same glow filter on the whole bar group, and the translucent gradient as a backdrop band; annotated bars get a blush outline.
- Annotations: a 0.8px blush leader from 8px above the point up to the label, an r 3.5 plum dot with a 1.4px blush ring at the point, an uppercase Syne title and an italic Newsreader note with the exact figure, set so no gridline runs through the note text. Mark stretches like sold-out days with a dotted 1px line and an italic label.

Avoid: multiple accent colors, neon, heavy gridlines, glows clipped at the plot edge, legends (one series, label it in the subtitle).

When you're done, render the chart and check that the glow is soft and unclipped, the hero numeral fits inside its card, and annotation figures match the data.
