Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Frosted Glass" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a frosted translucent glass card floating over vivid, blurred color blobs. Soft, luminous, modern, with smooth glowing lines.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Base background: #EEF0FB.
- Color blobs behind the card: circles of #FF7AB6 (top left, r 170), #7B61FF (top right, r 190), #38D6F5 (bottom right, r 170), #FFC46B (bottom left, r 150) and #B69CFF (center, r 110), blurred with a 26px Gaussian blur at 90% opacity. Let them spill past the card edges so the frosting reads.
- Series 1: #7A4DFF. Series 2: #F0457E. More series, in order: #0FA3B8, #F59E0B.
- Text: #2A2350 (title, values), #6B6590 (subtitle, axes, footnote).
- Gridlines: white (#FFFFFF) at 75% opacity; the baseline white at 95%, 1.5px.

Glass card (this is what sells the style):
- Card inset 72px from the sides and 52px from the top and bottom, 30px corner radius.
- Simulate backdrop blur: inside a clip of the card shape, redraw the same blobs with an 80px blur at 85% opacity, then a white (#FFFFFF) veil at 52% opacity, then fine fractal-noise grain at 18% opacity. If the platform supports backdrop-filter, use blur(60px) with the same white veil instead.
- Sheen: a vertical white gradient from 50% at the top to 0 by 35% of the card height.
- Rim: a 1.5px stroke with a diagonal white gradient (95% at the top left, 35% in the middle, 75% at the bottom right), plus a 1px inner stroke of white at 35% inset 2px.
- Shadow: 0 24px 56px #4B2FB8 at 22%.

Typography (Google Fonts): Nunito.
- Title 29px 800, letter-spacing -0.4px. Subtitle 16px 600. Legend pills 14.5px 700. Axis labels 14px 700. End labels 14px 800 in the series color. Tooltip date 13px 700, tooltip values 19px 800. Footnote 12.5px 600.

Layout:
- Title and subtitle top left inside the card with 40px padding. Legend as small glass pills right-aligned on the subtitle row: white at 60% with a 1px white border at 90%, 30px tall, fully rounded, a soft drop shadow (0 6px 16px #4B2FB8 at 16%), a 6px series dot inside a 10px halo of the same color at 18%.
- Plot below with generous padding; footnote bottom left.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal white gridlines only, labels right-aligned left of the plot with an "h", "%" or unit suffix. Month or category labels below in 14px 700. No axis lines except the white baseline.

Marks:
- Line chart: 3.5px smooth monotone lines with round caps and a soft glow (Gaussian blur 6px merged under the line). Under each line a vertical gradient of its color from about 20% to 0. Label the last value of each line directly at the right end.
- Bar chart: bars with fully rounded 12px tops filled with a vertical gradient of the series color (100% at the top to 70% at the base), a 1px white inner highlight at 60% along the top, and the same soft glow at half strength.
- Highlight one key moment with a floating glass tooltip (white at 66%, 18px radius, 1.5px white border, the pill shadow), a dotted white 1.5px guide line and a 7px white point ringed 3px in the series color. Color the numbers inside the tooltip by series.

Avoid: flat opaque cards, dark text on saturated fills, hard-edged blobs, black, thin hairline type, and more than two glowing series at once.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the blobs look sharper outside the card than through it, the card rim is visible on all four sides, the glows aren't clipped, and no label sits on top of a line.
