Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Frame Inspection" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a beekeeper's spring inspection sheet. Each bar is drawn like a wooden comb frame lifted out of the hive: a top bar with lugs, a thin wooden border and square ends. Warm neutrals, food-like colors, a crisp geometric sans.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #F2F0EB (warm light gray). Ink: #2E2A24. Secondary text: #7A7368. Guides: #DAD6CD. Frame wood and eyebrow: #8C6A43.
- Segments in this order: Capped brood #C7995B, Open brood #F6D5CC (pale peach), Honey #E5B53A, Pollen #D9772B, Empty comb #D5D2CA. Keep this order in every bar and in the legend.
- Segment value labels: #2E2A24 on the first three, #FFFFFF on #D9772B, #5E574C on #D5D2CA.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Space Grotesk throughout. Eyebrow 12px 600 uppercase, 2.4px letter-spacing, in #8C6A43. Title 27px 700 with -0.4px letter-spacing, stating the finding with numbers. Subtitle 15px #7A7368.
- Row names 16px 700, with a small 11.5px #7A7368 second line (here the inspection date). Legend 13px 500. Segment values 13px 600 centered in each segment (omit below 6%). Axis percentages 12px.

Layout:
- 56px margins. Eyebrow y 56, title y 96, subtitle y 124, legend row at y 148 to 162 with 14px square swatches outlined 0.8px #8C6A43.
- Row labels left-aligned at x 56; bars from x 200 to 880. Rows 50px apart; each row is a 6px wooden top bar that sticks out 12px past both ends of the bar (the lugs), then the 30px-tall bar directly beneath it, outlined 2px #8C6A43, with a 3px bottom bar of #8C6A43 at 55% opacity.
- Sort rows by the most important segment (here brood), largest first. Footer: "Source: ..." left, a method note right, both 12px.

Axes and grid:
- Vertical guides at 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100%: 1px #DAD6CD, solid at 0 and 100, dashed 2 on 3 in between, running behind the bars. Percent labels centered below the last row. No horizontal gridlines.

Marks:
- Bar chart: 100% stacked horizontal bars with perfectly square ends and no gaps between segments; the frame outline and top bar sit over the fills.
- Line chart: draw each series as a 2.5px line in its segment color over a stacked 100% area in the same colors at 85% opacity, with the frame treatment as the plot border (a 6px #8C6A43 top bar with lugs and a 2px wooden outline) and the same legend swatches.

Avoid: rounded bar ends, gradients, shadows, a gap between segments, reordering segments between rows.

When you're done, render the chart and check that every row sums to 100, the lugs extend equally on both sides, the pale peach and gold segments stay distinguishable, and no segment label overflows its segment.
