Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Formula Card" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a premium packaging insert for a night cream. Matte black, one frosted glass card, monospaced ingredient names like a formula sheet, gold only for the actives.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #121212 with three very soft blurred blobs (gold #D9B56D at 35%, warm gray #6F6A62 at 50%, gray #9A9A9A at 25%; blur stdDeviation 60).
- Frosted panel: x 48, y 36, 864 x 528, 22px radius. Inside it, redraw the blobs with blur 90, veil with #2A2A2A at 55% and add a 5% white fractal-noise grain. Edge: 1px diagonal gradient stroke from white 34% to 6% to 18%.
- Base marks: #CFCFCF (pale silver). Highlighted marks: #D9B56D (soft gold). Title: #F2F0EC. Base labels: #BDBBB7. Secondary text: #8E8C88. Row dividers: white at 6%.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Cormorant 600 for the title (36px pearl, stating the finding) and for function notes set in all small caps (14px, 1px letter-spacing, gold).
- Space Mono for everything else: eyebrow 11px uppercase with 2px letter-spacing; subtitle 12px; category names 12px uppercase (700 and gold when highlighted); value labels 12px; axis ticks 11px.

Layout:
- Eyebrow at x 84, y 78; title y 122; subtitle y 148; a legend (16 x 8 chips, "ACTIVE" and "BASE") top right. A white 12% rule at y 170.
- Names start at x 84, bars start at x 336 and scale to x 796. Rows 26px tall. Function notes right-aligned 14px left of the bar start. A footnote in mono at the bottom of the panel.

Axes and grid:
- A 1px white 35% vertical axis at the bar start, tick marks and "0%" labels below the last row. Faint 6% row dividers instead of gridlines.

Marks:
- Bar chart: 9px tall square-ended bars, value labels 10px past the end. A value far beyond the scale gets a broken bar: run it to the scale end and cut it with two diagonal strokes in #2A2A2A, 5px wide, then the value in bold pearl.
- Line chart: a 1.5px silver line with r 3 silver points, highlighted points r 5 gold with an 8px gold halo at 20%, gold labels with a small-caps note; the same frosted panel and mono labels.

Avoid: bright colors, more than one accent, rounded bars, heavy borders, pure black text on the panel.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the panel reads as frosted glass, highlighted rows are gold in name, note and bar, the broken bar is clearly marked, and the title figure sums correctly.
