Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Form Study" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a surface-analysis screen in a product design studio at night. Deep graphite, thin glowing white traces like highlight lines on a clay model, one selected design in electric blue, and a wireframe inset that shows what was measured.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #1A1B1D with a soft radial lift to #23252A centered left of middle.
- Unselected series: #F2F3F5 (white) at 95%, 70% and 55% opacity; the third also dashed 5 on 4 off so the whites stay distinguishable.
- Selected series and all highlights: #2F8CFF (electric blue).
- Secondary text: #8A8D93. Gridlines: #2B2D31. Baseline and inset frame lines: #4A4D53 and #34373C. Inset panel fill: #141517.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Michroma 400 for the title only: 25px uppercase with 1.5px letter-spacing, stating which design wins.
- Sora for everything else: eyebrow 11px 500 uppercase with 2.4px letter-spacing; subtitle 13.5px 400 #8A8D93 with the measure, unit and the key numbers; tick labels 11.5px; axis titles 10.5px 500 uppercase with 1.8px letter-spacing; series labels 12px with the code in 700 and the name in 400; table rows 12.5px.

Layout:
- 48px margins. Eyebrow y 56, title y 100, subtitle y 130.
- Plot from x 88 to 640 and y 170 to 480. Right column from x 680 to 912: an inset panel 232 x 200 at y 170, then a four-row readout table ("PEAK CURVATURE, 1/M") sorted with the selected design first.
- Source line at the bottom left at y 568.

Axes and grid:
- Full 1px #2B2D31 grid in both directions; the zero line slightly brighter (#4A4D53). No axis lines. The x-axis title right-aligned under the plot, with "TAIL" at the left end.

Marks:
- Line chart: smooth monotone curves. Unselected lines 1.4px white with a 3.2px Gaussian glow merged under the stroke; the selected line 2.4px blue with a stronger 6px glow applied twice. Each unselected line gets a small hollow ring (r 3, 1.2px) at its peak and a direct label near it; the selected line gets its label in blue plus an outlined pill "SELECTED" (88 x 17px, 1px blue, 9.5px 600 caps with 2px letter-spacing) placed in clear space above the curve.
- Bar chart: thin 10px bars with 2px radius tops, white at the same three opacities with a subtle glow, the selected bar solid blue with the stronger glow, direct labels above each bar, same grid.
- Inset: a wireframe side profile of the product (five nested section curves and vertical station lines in 0.8px #4A4D53) with the measured edge traced in 2.4px blue with glow and a 3px blue dot at each end, and small 0 and length labels.

Avoid: filled areas, bright gridlines, more than one accent color, thick lines, and glows that clip at the plot edge (use a user-space filter region covering the whole canvas).

When you're done, render the chart and check that the white series are separable by opacity and dash, the SELECTED pill sits in clear space, glows are not clipped, and the readout table matches the peaks in the chart.
