Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Forgetting Curve" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a calm explainer about how memory works. Deep night-sky navy, one softly glowing cyan line, small bright stars marking the moments that matter, and a lilac target line.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background #0E1630 with a radial glow of #16214A centered slightly right of middle near the top (radius 75%) fading to #0E1630.
- Main series: #A5F3FC (pale cyan), with a vertical gradient area under it from #A5F3FC at 16% to 0%.
- Target or reference line: #C4B5FD (lilac), dashed.
- Event stars: #FFFFFF fill with a 1.4px #A5F3FC stroke.
- Title text #E6ECFF; secondary text #8A97C2; gridlines #1E2A4F; "today" rule #3A4A80; source #5F6C98.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Quicksand throughout. Title 700 31px #E6ECFF, sentence case, stating the finding. Subtitle 500 16px #8A97C2. Axis labels 600 13px. Event day numbers 700 13px #E6ECFF above the plot, with a caption "REVIEW ON DAY" 700 11px, 1.6px letter-spacing. Annotations 600 12 to 13px. Legend 600 13px. Source 500 12px.

Layout:
- 48px side margins. Title at y 62, subtitle at 92. Event caption at y 142 and event numbers at y 168, each centered over its star. Plot from x 96 to 884 and y 186 to 486. Legend row at y 552, source at 580.

Axes and grid:
- 1px #1E2A4F horizontal gridlines at every 20 units, labels right-aligned 14px left of the plot ("100%" on the top one). No axis lines. X labels 26px under the plot; the first reads "Day 0".
- A 1px dashed (3 on, 4 off) vertical rule marks today, labeled "Today" just above the baseline.

Marks:
- Line chart: a 2.6px cyan line with round joins and a glow (Gaussian blur 4.5 merged under the sharp line; use a filter region covering the whole canvas). Where a review resets the value, the line jumps straight up to 100%. Each reset gets a 5-point white star (outer radius 6.5, inner 45%) with a doubled blur glow. The future portion continues as a 2px dotted line (2 on, 5 off), ending at a hollow navy star. Draw a faint comparison curve (1.8px cyan at 40% opacity, dashed 3 on 5 off) for what happens without intervention, labeled in cyan at 70% opacity.
- Bar chart: slim 18px bars in cyan at 85% with 6px rounded tops and the same glow, events marked by stars above the bars, the target as the dashed lilac line across the plot.
- Target line: 1.8px #C4B5FD dashed 7 on, 6 off, labeled in 700 13px lilac just below it.

Avoid: bright saturated colors, multiple glowing series, heavy gridlines, rectangular legends with borders, and glows clipped by a small filter region.

When you're done, render the chart and check that every reset lands exactly at 100% under its star and day number, the glow is not clipped anywhere, and the title's claim holds for every point before today.
