Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Forecast Call" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the screen a sales leader shares in the weekly forecast call. Dark navy meeting UI with a live header strip and pill chips, crisp white and gold lines, a sky companion measure in its own panel below, and little change triangles that tell the story week by week.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #0B1324. Header strip: #131F38 with a 1px #24324F bottom border. Chip outlines: #2C3B5C. Gridlines: #1E2A44.
- Primary series (commit): #F8FAFC. Second series (best case): #FBBF24. Companion measure in its own panel (coverage): #38BDF8, also used for that panel's title and axis labels.
- Change markers: up #4ADE80, down #FB7185 (also the "LIVE" dot and the annotation), flat #8492AB.
- Muted text: #8492AB. Header text: #CBD5E1.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Plus Jakarta Sans 800 for the title (27px, -0.5px letter-spacing, stating the change) and the end-value labels (15px, in each series color).
- Barlow for everything else: header "LIVE" 13px 700 with 1.6px letter-spacing, header context 15px 500; chips 13px 600; subtitle 15.5px #8492AB; axis labels 12.5 to 13px 500 (companion panel labels 600 in sky); annotations 12.5px; end-label names 11px 500; source 12px.

Layout:
- A 54px header strip across the top: a 5px coral dot and "LIVE", then "Company · Q3 forecast call · Week 13 of 13". On the right, one pill chip per series (26px tall, radius 13, #0B1324 fill, 1px #2C3B5C stroke) holding a 16px line swatch (dashed for the companion measure) and its name. The chips are the legend.
- Title at y 104, subtitle at y 132 naming the main unit and saying the companion measure is in the panel below.
- Main plot from x 84 to 780, y 172 to 400, with its axis title "$M" 16px above. Never put a second measure on a right-hand axis.
- Companion panel below it with 46px of clear space between: an uppercase sky title ("PIPELINE COVERAGE OF REMAINING QUOTA", 11px 600, 1.2px letter-spacing) at y 432, then a framed strip from y 446 to 516 (a #131F38 rounded rect at 60% opacity, radius 4, padded 8px around the plot) with its own small scale. The week labels sit once, under this bottom panel, since both panels share the x axis.
- End labels at x 856: value in the series color, name beneath in #8492AB, joined to the last point by a 1px dotted (2 2) leader at 55% opacity. If two end labels come within 36px, spread them apart and let the leader bend to reach the label.

Axes and grid:
- Main plot: 1px #1E2A44 gridlines at $7, $9, $11, $13 with left labels right-aligned in #8492AB. Companion panel: gridlines at 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x with left labels in sky. Week labels "W1" to "W13" 30px under the companion panel, the latest white and bold.

Marks:
- Line chart: primary series 3.25px white with 3.5px solid white dots; second series 2.5px gold with hollow 3px dots (page-colored fill, 2px gold ring); companion measure 2.5px sky dashed 7 5 in its own panel. Straight segments, round joins. Under each primary point from the second week, a small marker 12px below the point: an 8px-tall up triangle in #4ADE80 when the value rose, a down triangle in #FB7185 when it fell, a 9 x 2.5 #8492AB dash when flat. Annotate the biggest pull-back with a 1px coral stem rising above the point into clear space and a two-line label (first line coral 600).
- Bar chart: grouped bars per period (primary white, second gold, 2px top radius, 2px gap) on the $ axis starting at zero, the companion measure as the sky dashed line in its own panel below, and the same change triangles under the primary bars.

Avoid: a secondary y axis, light backgrounds, gradients, glows, a boxed legend inside the plot, and using the companion sky color for anything in the main plot.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the main plot has one $ scale and the companion panel is clearly separate, the triangle counts in the footer match the data, the end labels do not collide, and the annotation clears both lines.
