Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Football Field" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the valuation summary page of a fairness opinion. Crisp, white and authoritative: navy range bars floating across a price axis, one red offer line and a quietly shaded negotiated band.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #FFFFFF.
- Full ranges: #1B2F5B (navy). Central ranges: #8FA3DB (periwinkle), drawn inside the navy bars.
- Offer price line and tag: #D0312D (red).
- Negotiated band: #F1EFE6 with its label in #8A8166.
- End value labels and secondary text: #6B7280. Primary text: #1F2430. Gridlines: #E3E6EC.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Archivo for the title (700, 28px, -0.3px letter-spacing, navy, stating the finding) and subtitle (400, 14px gray).
- Archivo Narrow for everything else: eyebrow 12px 600 uppercase with 1.8px letter-spacing; row method names 15px 700; row assumptions 12px 400 gray; end labels 13px 500 gray; axis labels 13px; offer tag 13px 700 white with 1px letter-spacing; legend 12.5px.

Layout:
- A 6px navy bar at the left of the eyebrow and title block, 40px margin.
- Row labels left-aligned in a 240px column, two lines each: the method, then its key assumption.
- Plot area from x 290 to 900 with equal 58px rows separated by dashed (2 on, 3 off) #E3E6EC rules.
- A single legend line along the bottom (full range, central range, negotiated range, offer with its premium) and the source at the right.

Axes and grid:
- Price axis along the bottom with dollar labels every , a 1px #1F2430 baseline and faint 1px vertical #E3E6EC gridlines.
- The negotiated range is a #F1EFE6 vertical band spanning all rows, labeled in small caps just outside its left edge.
- The offer is a 2.2px red vertical line through every row, capped at the top by a solid red 124 x 22 tag reading "OFFER $46.50".

Marks:
- Bar chart: floating horizontal range bars 26px tall, square cornered, from low to high value, with a 14px periwinkle bar inside marking the central range. Low value label 7px left of each bar, high value label 7px right, in gray; give labels a 5px halo in the local background color so the offer line never cuts through the digits.
- Line chart: draw each series as a thin navy line with a light periwinkle band for its range, the red line as a horizontal reference, and the negotiated band shaded behind; labels at line ends in the same gray.

Avoid: rounded bars, gradients, shadows, more than one accent color, and any real company names.

When you're done, render the chart and check that every bar's ends match its labels, the central range sits fully inside each full range, the offer line and band are at the right values, and the premium in the legend is computed from the data.
