Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Float Glass" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a clean sheet of float glass held up to daylight. Pale aqua, crisp and quiet, with the thin green edge you see when you look at glass end-on.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #EEF6F6 (aqua-tinted glass white). Panel face: #F8FCFC.
- Data line and accents: #1F8A70 (sea green). Top-edge highlight on the line: #B8F0DC.
- Panel edge: #A6D8CB, 1.2px. Bevel rim gradient from #FFFFFF (top left) through #D9EBEA to #B9D3D1 (bottom right).
- Title and strong text: #17332F. Secondary text: #5E7A76. Gridlines: #DCEAE9.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Lora 600, 29px, #17332F for the title, stating the finding.
- Manrope for everything else: eyebrow 11.5px 700 uppercase, 2.4px letter-spacing, #1F8A70; subtitle 15px #5E7A76; axis labels 13px 500 (y) and 12.5px (x, year starts 600 in #17332F); annotations 13px, first line 700; value pill 13px 700 in #1F8A70; source 12px.

Layout:
- 60px margins. Eyebrow, title and subtitle in the top 130px.
- A beveled plot panel from about x 60 to 900 and y 146 to 514: a 16px radius rectangle filled with the bevel rim gradient and a soft drop shadow (0, 6, blur 10, #3C7C78 at 12%), then the face inset 2px (14px radius, #F8FCFC, 1.2px #A6D8CB edge), and a 1.5px white highlight along the inside of the top edge.
- Plot area inside the panel with about 56px padding on the left and 44px on the right.
- When the x axis spans years, draw thin #DCEAE9 year dividers and a small header row inside the panel: the year in 13px 700 #17332F followed by the year total in 13px #5E7A76.

Axes and grid:
- Barely visible horizontal gridlines: 1px #DCEAE9, three or four of them. No axis lines, no ticks.
- Y labels right-aligned 14px left of the plot. X labels 24px below the plot.

Marks:
- Line chart: a monotone smooth 4.5px #1F8A70 line with round caps and joins, and on top of it a 1.3px #B8F0DC highlight line shifted 1.4px upward so it rides the top edge of the stroke. A soft area wash below from #2FA487 at 16% to 0% at the baseline. The last point is a 5.5px radius #1F8A70 dot with a 2px panel-colored ring. A second series: 2.5px #5E7A76 line with the same highlight at 60%.
- Bar chart: bars in #1F8A70 at 85% with a 6px top radius, a 1.3px #B8F0DC highlight along the top edge inset 3px, and a faint lighter vertical sheen on the left third. Bars sit inside the same beveled panel.

Labels and annotation:
- The latest value sits in a clear rounded pill: #FFFFFF at 85% fill, 1.2px #1F8A70 outline, 15px radius, 30px tall, placed just below and left of the last point.
- Notable events: a 5px ring marker (panel fill, 2px green stroke), a 1px #5E7A76 leader, and a two-line label (bold event, regular date and value).

Avoid: saturated backgrounds, heavy gridlines, drop shadows on the line, glossy glass reflections or glare streaks, and more than one accent hue.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the highlight edge reads as a thin bright line along the top of the green stroke (not a separate series), the gridlines are barely there, the pill does not cover the line, and any percentage in the title matches the yearly totals.
