Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Fleet Battery" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a fleet management console for warehouse robots at night. Calm and technical: dark charcoal, thin neon traces with the one that matters lit up, pill-shaped ID chips and one amber threshold.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #15171B (dark charcoal). Chips: #1C1F25 with a 1px #2A2E36 border. Gridlines #2A2E36.
- Series, in order: #3FD0E0 (cyan), #A6E04A (lime), #9D7BF0 (violet), #E0564A (signal red), #F27AB8 (pink), #E8EAED (white).
- Threshold line and its label: #F2B33D (amber, reserved for the threshold; no series uses it); the zone below it is #F2B33D at 5% opacity.
- Title #F2F4F7, secondary text #858C99, chip text #C3C8D1, footer #5E6572.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Genos throughout. Eyebrow 500 at 15px uppercase with 3px letter-spacing, separators "//". Title 600 at 35px stating the finding. Subtitle 400 at 19px. Chip IDs 600 at 16px with 1px letter-spacing. Axis labels 16px. Threshold label 600 at 15px uppercase with 1.6px letter-spacing. End values 600 at 16px in the series color.

Layout:
- 40px side margins. Eyebrow at y 52, title at y 96, subtitle at y 126.
- A row of legend chips at y 144: 108 x 24 pills (radius 12), 10px apart, each with an 18 x 4 rounded swatch bar in the series color and the ID. The highlighted series gets a 1px chip border in its own color.
- Plot about x 84 to 900, y 186 to 494; end-value labels just right of the plot. Footer: "Source: ..." left, a short note right.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal 1px #2A2E36 gridlines at 0, 50, 75, 100% with labels like "75%"; no vertical grid. Time labels ("06:00") with 6px ticks every hour.
- The threshold (here the return-to-charge level) is a 1.4px amber line dashed 7 5, with an uppercase amber label right-aligned just below it and a faint amber wash beneath.

Marks:
- Line chart: highlight the one series the title is about as a 2.8px line at full opacity drawn on top, with a 4px end dot and an 18px end value. Every other series is a 1.5px line at 42% opacity with a 3px end dot and a 16px end value. Straight segments and round joins, no other markers (nudge end labels apart by at least 17px).
- Bar chart: grouped or single thin bars (about 40% of the band, 2px top radius) in the series colors on the charcoal page, the amber dashed threshold across them, ID chips as the legend.

Avoid: glows, gradients, area fills under the lines, thick strokes, any series in the threshold amber, and a boxed legend.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the highlighted line reads first and the muted lines stay traceable where they cross, no series shares the threshold hue, the end labels don't overlap, the threshold label is readable over the lines, and the title's count matches the data.
