Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "First Response" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a friendly customer-support analytics card. Soft peach warmth, rounded shapes, one big reassuring number, and gentle but unmistakable flags on the days that missed the target.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #FFF6EF soft peach. Card: #FFFFFF with radius 24 and a soft drop shadow (0 6px 12px blur, #C2410C at 10% opacity).
- Main series: #EA580C tangerine. Target line: #16A34A green, with a #DCFCE7 pill for the "under target" badge.
- Breach columns and the company pill: #FFEDD5 pale orange, their text and the worst-value label in #C2410C.
- Ink: #3B2A20 warm dark brown. Secondary text: #8A7466. Gridlines: #F1E6DD.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Quicksand 700 for the title (30px, two lines: the first in #3B2A20, the second with the key count in #EA580C) and the headline figure (64px digits with 30px #8A7466 unit letters, e.g. "1h 42m").
- Nunito for everything else: company pill 700 11px uppercase with 1px letter-spacing; context line 600 13px; subtitle 15px #8A7466; small caps label over the headline ("MONTHLY MEDIAN") 700 11.5px with 1.4px letter-spacing; tick labels 600 12.5px (the target tick 700 in #16A34A); legend 600 12.5px; worst-value label 800 13px; source 12px.

Layout:
- The card spans 32px to 928px horizontally and 28px to 572px vertically; content inset 32px inside it.
- Top left: company pill, then the two-line title and the subtitle naming measure and unit. Top right, right-aligned: the small label, the big headline figure, and a rounded pill badge below it ("18 min under the SLA").
- Plot from about y 226 to y 494, x 110 to 888. Legend row and source share one line near the card bottom (legend left, source right).

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal 1.2px #F1E6DD gridlines; y labels in duration format (30m, 1h, 1h 30m, 2h...). No axis lines, no vertical grid. X labels at a few dates ("Apr 1", "Apr 5"...).
- Target: a 2px #16A34A dashed line (7 on, 6 off, round caps) across the plot.

Marks:
- Line chart: a smooth monotone curve, 3px #EA580C with round caps, over a faint area fill (#EA580C at 7%). A dot on every point: r 4 white with a 2.2px tangerine ring; points that breach the target are filled tangerine at r 5.5. Label the worst point with its value above it.
- Bar chart: rounded columns (radius 6 at the top) in #EA580C for breaching periods and a lighter tint of tangerine (35% opacity) for periods within target, the same dashed #16A34A target line and breach column shading behind breaching bars.
- Breach shading: behind each breaching period a full-height #FFEDD5 column one band wide (1px inset each side) with radius 6.

Avoid: harsh black text, sharp corners, heavy gridlines, red for breaches (tangerine and pale orange carry it), and more than one accent hue besides the green target.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the headline figure is the true median of the data, the title's count of days within target matches the data, breach columns sit exactly behind breaching points, and the card shadow is soft rather than muddy.
