Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Fermenter Levels" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the cellar status screen of a craft brewery at dawn. Dark navy, tall condensed type, and every bar drawn as a cylindroconical fermenter filled with the beer it holds.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #0E1624. Empty tank interior: #15213A. Tank outlines and baseline: #5B6B85. Gridlines: #1C2A42.
- Fill colors follow the product, from pale gold #E8C35A and #F2D878 through #D9A13B and amber #B8642A to #9A3322 and deep ruby #6E1423. For generic series, step along that ramp.
- Liquid surface line: #F4EBD2 at 85%. Status pill: ice blue #9ED8F0 with #0E1624 text. Eyebrow: #9ED8F0.
- Text: #E6ECF5; secondary #C3CCDB; muted #8492AB.
- Tank walls get a horizontal shading overlay: black at 28% on the left, white at 10% at 30%, clear at 55%, black at 32% on the right.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Saira Condensed throughout: eyebrow 600 13px, 2.6px letter-spacing, uppercase; title 700 36px, #E6ECF5, stating the finding; subtitle 400 17px muted with the measure, unit and total; value above each tank 700 22px with "OF 40 HL" beneath in 500 11.5px, 1px letter-spacing; category ID 700 19px; name 500 14px #C3CCDB; status line 500 12px uppercase muted; pill text 700 12px; tick labels 500 14px muted; footer 13px.

Layout:
- 56px side margins. Eyebrow at y 58, title at 98, subtitle at 126, a small key at the right (capacity swatch outline, fill swatch). Plot from x 104 to 904 with the baseline at y 452. Labels stack below: ID at +26, name at +45, status at +62, pill at +72. A 1px #1C2A42 rule at y 556, footer at 580.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal gridlines every 20 units in #1C2A42, the zero line in #5B6B85. y labels right-aligned 14px left, the unit on the top label ("60 hL").

Marks:
- Bar chart: each bar is a tank silhouette 62px wide: a domed top (10px shoulder), straight walls, and a 30px cone narrowing to a 6px outlet at the zero baseline. The silhouette height is the category's capacity (drawn in #15213A with a 1.4px #5B6B85 outline and a faint seam where the cone begins); the fill is a rectangle from the baseline up to the current value, clipped to the silhouette, so fill height stays proportional to the value. A 2.5px surface line tops the fill. An empty category shows the outline only with "EMPTY" inside.
- Line chart: 2.6px lines in the ramp colors over the navy ground, with a soft area fill (20% of the line color) down to zero clipped to the plot, a 2.5px #F4EBD2 cap segment on the final point, and the tank-style value stack (big number, small "OF" line) at each line end; any capacity or limit as a 1.4px #5B6B85 line.
- Status pills (76 x 19, 9.5px radius, #9ED8F0) mark flagged categories under their labels.

Avoid: glossy highlights, glows, rounded rectangle bars, fills that are not clipped to the tank shape, and a color legend (the names sit under each tank).

When you're done, render the chart and check that every fill starts at the cone tip on the zero line, fill heights match the values on the axis, pale and dark fills both stay visible against navy, and pills never collide with the footer rule.
