Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Extruded Columns" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: early presentation-software 3D business graphics. A charcoal stage, chunky oblique extruded columns standing on a slim perspective floor strip, rounded button-like legend keys and boxed total tags.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #1C1D21.
- Series front / side / top faces: teal #2BB3A6 / #1B7A71 / #6FD6CC; orange #F08A3C / #A95A20 / #F7B584; cream #EFE3C2 / #A89D80 / #FFF8E6.
- Floor grid and back gridlines: #3A3C44. Text: #F2F2F0 primary, #9A9CA6 secondary.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Syncopate 700 for the title (28px, all caps, 1px letter-spacing, stating the finding) and the brand line in the footer (10px, 2px spacing).
- Exo 2 for everything else: subtitle 15px secondary; legend labels 12px 700 caps with 1px spacing in charcoal; axis labels 13px; total tags 14px 700; category labels 14px 600.

Layout:
- Title at y 76, subtitle at 106, legend row at y 127 to 156. Plot from y 204 to a baseline at y 500, x 110 to 880. Floor strip from the baseline down to y 522 only; category labels at y 542, tight under the columns; source and brand line at y 588.
- Legend keys: rounded rectangles (rx 8, 26px tall) filled with the series front color, sitting on a copy in the side color offset 3px down to read as a raised button, a 3px white highlight strip at 35% opacity near the top, and the label centered inside.

Axes and grid:
- 1px #3A3C44 gridlines at round values extending to the back of the extrusion, labels right-aligned to the left. A 1.2px secondary baseline.
- A slim perspective floor strip under the baseline, clipped to its 22px band: about 17 lines converging on a vanishing point centered above the plot, crossed by horizontal lines whose spacing grows toward the viewer (0, 5, 12, 22px below the baseline). Keep it shallow: it only stages the columns and must never push the category labels away from them.

Marks:
- Bar chart: each column is an oblique extrusion with depth offset 16px right and 11px up: a flat front rectangle (front color, measured honestly from zero), a side parallelogram on the right (side color) for every stacked segment, and a top parallelogram (top color) only on the top segment. Bars 44px wide. Above each column a boxed total tag (40 x 22, rx 3, charcoal fill, 1px secondary outline, bold white number).
- Line chart: draw each series as an extruded ribbon: the line in its front color at 4px, a parallel copy offset 16px right and 11px up in its side color, joined into a filled band in the side color, with 10px square markers in the top color. Label each series at the right end.

Avoid: perspective that distorts bar length (keep fronts flat and to scale), shading gradients, glows, pie-chart tilt and more than three series colors.

When you're done, render the chart and check that every front face starts at zero, side faces never overlap the next column, total tags clear the top faces, the floor stays inside its slim band, and the category labels sit right under their columns.
