Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Epoch Hashrate

DarkLine

Hex-lattice night dashboard with epoch capsules and a glowing cyan readout.

  • Electric cyan#3BE8F0
  • Dim violet#8E7FE6
  • Frost text#E6EDF8

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Epoch Hashrate" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a night-shift mining dashboard. Near-black navy with a barely visible hexagon lattice, an electric cyan trace, a dim violet average and a glowing live readout. Technical, not gaudy.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #0B1020, overlaid with a hexagonal lattice (pointy-top hexes, radius 14px, 0.8px #1A2340 strokes) and a radial vignette back to #0B1020 at 90% opacity at the edges.
- Main series: #3BE8F0 (electric cyan) at 1.4px, with a cyan area fill fading from 14% to 0%.
- Average series: #8E7FE6 (dim violet), 2.5px, dash 6 3, 90% opacity.
- Text #E6EDF8; secondary #7F8BA8; faint #4C5775. Gridlines #18213A, baseline #34405F, epoch dividers #2C3860.
- Change labels: rises #6FA9B8, falls #C98AA0.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Chakra Petch: title 29px 600 stating the finding, subtitle 15px 400 #7F8BA8, notes 12px.
- Fira Code for everything else: eyebrow 11.5px 500 uppercase with 1.5px letter-spacing in cyan ("OBOL CHAIN // NETWORK HASHRATE"), legend 12px, axis values 11px, capsules 10px 500, readout value 19px 600.

Layout:
- 48px margins. Eyebrow, title, subtitle top left; a two-item legend top right (26px strokes).
- The plot from x 76 to about 820, leaving room at the right for the readout box.

Axes and grid:
- 1px #18213A horizontal gridlines at 5 even values with mono labels, no axis lines except the baseline.
- Vertical dashed dividers (1px #2C3860, dash 3 4) at every epoch boundary, running 26px above the plot. Above each epoch, centered, a 34 x 17 px capsule (radius 8.5, #141C33 fill, #2C3860 border) with "E01", "E02"... in Fira Code; the latest epoch's capsule is #0F3A45 with a cyan border and cyan text.
- Under the plot, centered in each epoch, the change in the epoch's mean versus the previous epoch ("+3.9%"), rise and fall colored, and a small caption explaining the row.

Marks:
- Line chart: straight-segment cyan daily line with the area fill, violet dashed 7-day average on top.
- Bar chart: slim cyan columns (1.5px gap between days, no radius) at 70% opacity with the violet dashed average line drawn over them; the latest column full opacity.
- Latest value: a white-core dot (r 4, 2px cyan ring) with a 9px blurred cyan halo, a thin cyan connector to a readout box (102 x 60, radius 6, #0F1A30 fill, cyan border at 70%) containing "LATEST", the value glowing in cyan and the unit.

Effects:
- Glow = Gaussian blur stdDeviation 4 merged under the source. Give glow filters a user-space region covering the whole canvas so they never clip.

Avoid: bright lattice lines, neon everywhere (only the latest point and readout glow), rainbow colors, a second y axis, and heavy gridlines.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the hex lattice is barely visible, capsules are centered in their epochs, the glow is unclipped, and the percent change in the title matches the data.
