Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Dose Strength" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the clean, color-coded information design of a modern medicine range, where each tablet strength has its own pack color. Clinical white, friendly rounded marks, precise type.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #FFFFFF with a 6px #1C2430 strip across the very top.
- Strength colors, each with a darker edge: pale yellow #F7DC6F (edge #C9A71E), orange #F39A3D (edge #C46A12), pink #E77AA6 (edge #B84476), blue #4F8FD6 (edge #2B64A8). Keep the order light to dark by strength.
- Ink: #1C2430. Secondary text: #5E6875. Gridlines: #E3E7EC. Storage rule: #C5CBD3.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Source Serif 4 700 for the title only, 30px #1C2430, stating the finding.
- Nunito Sans for everything else: eyebrow 12px 800 uppercase with 2.2px letter-spacing #5E6875; subtitle 16px 400 #5E6875; key labels 13px 700; value labels 13px 600 (the largest in each group 15px 800); strength labels under bars 13px 800 #1C2430; group labels 14px 600 #5E6875; axis numbers 13px; storage note 13px; source 12px.

Layout:
- 56px margins. Eyebrow, title, subtitle, then a key row of small tablets (26 x 13px capsules with a center score line) each followed by its strength.
- Plot below, then a full-width 1px #C5CBD3 rule and a footer: a small outlined thermometer icon with the storage note ("Store below 25°C. Keep blister in the outer carton.") on the left and "Source: illustrative data" on the right.

Axes and grid:
- Four 1px #E3E7EC gridlines; 1.4px #1C2430 baseline. Axis numbers at left, no y-axis line. A small "mg" unit tag at the left end of the strength label row.

Marks:
- Bar chart: grouped vertical bars 34px wide with 8px gaps inside a group, colored by strength, with 1px darker edge lines down both sides. Each bar is capped by a tablet: a capsule 4px wider than the bar, 14px tall, fully rounded (7px radius), filled with the bar color, 1.2px edge stroke, a white highlight bar (3.5px tall, 55% opacity) and a vertical score line in the edge color. The top of the tablet sits exactly at the value so the bar length stays honest. Strength printed bold under every bar; group label under a thin rule below that.
- Line chart: 3px lines in the strength colors, each line's points drawn as small horizontal capsules (14 x 8px, fully rounded, edge-colored 1px outline with a score line), the pale yellow line given a 1px #C9A71E outline so it holds on white. Direct labels at the right end in 13px Nunito Sans 800.

Labels and annotation:
- Value labels 8px above each tablet cap. Emphasize only the leading value in each group with a heavier weight.

Avoid: shadows, 3D pills, gradients, color used for anything but strength, a legend box separate from the tablet key, and truncated bars.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the pale yellow bars still read against white thanks to their edges, each tablet cap's top sits on the true value, strength labels line up under their bars, and the title's claim is true for the data.
