Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Discharge Curves" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the plot window of a battery cycler at a test lab. Deep black, crisp glowing curves on a cool-to-warm ramp, wide technical type and monospaced readouts.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #0D0F12 (lab black). Plot panel: #12151A. Gridlines: #1F242C.
- Series from gentlest to harshest condition: #88AEFF (pale blue), #56D6A4 (mint), #F2C14E (amber), #FF5A4E (red).
- Primary text: #E6EAF0. Secondary text: #7D8794. Cutoff line and note: #5A6472.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Michroma for the title only: 400, 22px, uppercase, 0.5px letter-spacing, #E6EAF0, stating the finding in plain words (avoid a percent sign in this face).
- Share Tech Mono for everything else: eyebrow 13px uppercase with 1.5px letter-spacing (cell ID, test, temperature); subtitle 15px #7D8794; axis labels 13px; axis titles 12px uppercase with 1.2px letter-spacing; curve labels 13px in the series color; side readouts 18px #E6EAF0 with 14px series-colored headers.

Layout:
- 56px margins. Eyebrow at y 56, title at y 96, subtitle at y 124.
- Plot panel from x 96 to 736, y 160 to 486. A readout column from x 776 to 904: header "CAPACITY AT CUTOFF", a rule, then one block per series with a 4 x 36 px color bar, the series label, its percentage of the gentlest series (right-aligned, #7D8794) and the value below in 18px.

Axes and grid:
- 1px #1F242C gridlines on both axes inside the panel; no axis lines. Y labels right-aligned 10px left of the panel with the unit above; x labels centered 22px below; the x-axis title right-aligned under the labels.
- A 1px dotted cutoff line (3 on, 4 off) in #5A6472 across the panel at the limit value, with a small uppercase note under its left end ("CUTOFF 2.50 V, DISCHARGE ENDS HERE").

Marks:
- Line chart: 2.2px round-capped smooth curves, each over a 5px copy at 35% opacity blurred by 3px for a soft glow. Label each series at its knee: a pill (18px tall, 9px radius, filled #0D0F12, 1.2px stroke in the series color) sitting on the curve with the label inside. No other markers on the curves: an unexplained dot reads as data.
- Bar chart: grouped or single square-cornered bars in the same ramp on the black panel, each with a faint 4px glow of its own color, value labels in 13px mono above, and the cutoff or target as the same dotted line. Keep the readout column.

Avoid: rainbow palettes outside the ramp, heavy glows that blur the curve shape, legends inside the plot, and serif or rounded fonts.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the ramp runs cool to warm in the order of the condition, pills never overlap each other, every curve ends on the cutoff line, and the percentages in the column match the values.
