Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Demo Day" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the scoreboard slide at a startup demo day. Charcoal stage, one rounded card per company, electric green progress against targets, and the tension of a running clock.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #18191B (charcoal graphite). Cards: #212225 with a 1px #2C2E32 border.
- Actual values: #2EE87A (electric green). Targets: #FFFFFF.
- Qualitative range bands, from zero outward: #4A4E55, #393C42, #2C2F33.
- Text: #FFFFFF for names and actuals, #8B8F96 for secondary text, #6A6E75 for ticks and source. Order badge on a hit: #1E3A2A fill with green digits; on a miss: #2E3034 fill with gray digits.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Space Grotesk for the title (29px 700, -0.6px letter-spacing, stating the finding), subtitle (14px 400 #8B8F96) and company names (16px 600) with a one-line descriptor (11px 400 #8B8F96).
- IBM Plex Mono for every figure: order badges 13px 600, actuals 14px 600, targets 12px 400, percent of target 12px 600 (green when on or above target, gray otherwise), ticks 10px, legend 11px, footer 11px with 1.4px letter-spacing.

Layout:
- 56px side margins. Title at y 66, subtitle at y 94, a compact legend top right (green bar "Actual", white tick "Target", three band swatches "50 / 100 / 150% of target").
- Scale tick labels at y 122 above the first card. Cards 46px tall, 7px apart, 10px radius, spanning the full width.
- Inside each card: a 34 x 28 order badge (7px radius) with the zero-padded pitch number, the name and descriptor at x 116, the bullet chart from x 322 to 732, then right-aligned actual, "/ target" and the percent of target.
- Footer at y 580: batch and event on the left, source centered, and a green dot with "NEXT PITCH IN 00:45" on the right.

Axes and grid:
- No gridlines or axis lines. A shared scale for all rows, labeled once above the list in .

Marks:
- Bar chart (bullet): per row, three stacked 18px bands at 0 to 50%, 50 to 100% and 100 to 150% of that row's target; a 7px #2EE87A actual bar with 1px radius centered on the bands; a 3 x 26 #FFFFFF target tick.
- Line chart: 2.5px #2EE87A actual line against a 1.5px dashed #FFFFFF target line (4 on, 4 off), over faint #2C2F33 range bands; dots only at the latest point with a mono value label. Use the same card frame around the plot.

Avoid: pastel or rainbow colors, rounded bars wider than 8px, gradients, drop shadows, and more than one accent color.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the headline count matches the rows at or above target, the percent-of-target figures are right, the figures column does not collide with the bullets, and the footer dot does not touch its text.
