Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Deal Velocity" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a premium dark analytics panel with one warm metal accent. Near-black, quiet, precise: a copper median ribbon, generous air and a slim sidebar of headline figures.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #0E0E10. Sidebar card: #17171A with a 1px #26262A stroke and 10px radius; sidebar dividers #2C2C31.
- Accent: #C2703D (copper) for the main line, the band (20% opacity, with 0.8px edges at 50%), the eyebrow and the headline figure. Lighter copper #E0A07A for the dotted outer percentile line.
- Ink: #EDE7E1. Muted text: #8A847E. Gridlines: #232326; zero line #3A3A3F.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Space Grotesk 600 for the title (28px, -0.6px letter-spacing) and the sidebar figures (46px, -1.5px letter-spacing, with a 16px muted unit tspan); Space Grotesk 400 12px for y-axis numbers.
- Karla for everything else: eyebrow 11px 700 uppercase with 2px letter-spacing in copper after a 14 x 3 copper bar; subtitle 15px muted; legend 12.5px 500; month labels 12px 500 (years 11px 700 beneath); event label 12.5px 700 ink with a 12px muted second line; sidebar captions 12.5px muted; footnotes 11 to 12px.

Layout:
- 40px left margin. Eyebrow at y 49, title at y 90, subtitle at y 116, legend row at y 146.
- Plot from x 76 to 690, y 168 to 512.
- Sidebar card from x 724 to 932, y 160 to 548: "SUMMARY" label, then three stacked figures (latest value in copper, percent change in ink using a true minus sign, the latest middle-half range in ink), each with a one or two line caption and a divider between them.

Axes and grid:
- Five 1px #232326 gridlines (0 to 120 by 30), the zero line a touch lighter. Labels right-aligned 12px left of the plot. Month labels every third month plus the last, with the year under the first month of each year. No axis lines.
- Before/after averages as 1px dashed (3 3) muted reference segments at 70% opacity with small "avg 51.9 days" labels.
- An event rule: 1px ink at 60% opacity with a 6px diamond cap and a two-line label to its right.

Marks:
- Line chart: the central measure as a 3px copper monotone-smoothed line with a hollow 5px end dot (page fill, 2.5px copper ring); the interquartile band as a copper fill at 20% opacity with thin edges; the outer percentile as a 1.75px #E0A07A dotted line (dash 0.1 4.5, round caps) at 80% opacity.
- Bar chart: copper bars at 60% of the band width with 3px top corners; an interval (interquartile) drawn as a 20% copper range bar behind each bar; the outer percentile as a small #E0A07A dotted tick above each bar; same event rule and sidebar.

Avoid: a second hue, neon glows, pure black, heavy gridlines, and legends inside the plot.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the sidebar figures are computed from the data, the percent change uses the averages you state, the band never hides the median line, and the event rule label clears the percentile line.
