Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Datasheet" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a page from an electronic component datasheet. Dense but orderly, set in a condensed sans, with a gray header band, numbered sections, table rules and a figure that reads like part of the spec table.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #FFFFFF.
- Header gray: #EDEFF2 for the page header band and the table header row.
- Steel blue: #4A78A6 for the data marks and the section number heading.
- Typical ink: #111111 for text, table top and bottom rules, the 2px rule under the page header, and the typical-value ticks.
- Row rule: #D5D9DE for hairline rules between rows and the footer rule. Secondary text #5E6670; vertical chart gridlines #E6E9EC with the zero line #9AA3AD. Optional highlighted row background #F3F6FA.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Roboto Condensed only. Part number 700 26px with the family word ("Series") 400 26px beside it. Header right side: product family 500 14px over a document line 11.5px with 0.8px letter-spacing in #5E6670.
- Section heading "7.3 Operating Conditions" 700 15px in #4A78A6. Title 700 25px #111111 stating the finding. Subtitle 14.5px #5E6670 explaining units and the encoding.
- Table header 700 11.5px uppercase with 0.8px letter-spacing. Row labels 500 15px (700 for the highlighted row), secondary column 14px #5E6670, numeric columns 15px right-aligned with the typical column in 700. Small end figures on the bars 11px #5E6670. Footer 12px.

Layout:
- A 58px header band in #EDEFF2 across the full width with a 2px #111111 rule under it: part number at left, family and document line right-aligned at the right margin.
- 48px side margins. Section heading, title and subtitle stacked below the header.
- The chart is a table: a 26px #EDEFF2 header row with a 1.2px #111111 top rule, then one 38px row per category separated by 0.8px #D5D9DE hairlines and closed by a 1.2px #111111 rule. Columns: name, secondary attribute, the chart column (about 440px wide), then MIN, TYP and MAX figure columns right-aligned.
- The chart column's axis labels sit in the table header row itself.
- A key below the table ("Figure 7-2" in bold at left, then swatches), and a footer rule with "Source: illustrative data" left and "Series Datasheet | Page 23" right.

Axes and grid:
- No separate axis lines: vertical 0.8px #E6E9EC gridlines every 20 units run through the table body only, the zero line in 1px #9AA3AD. Tick labels every 40 units, including zero, in the header row, 500 11.5px, with true minus signs.

Marks:
- Bar chart: horizontal range bars 12px tall in solid #4A78A6 spanning min to max, square ends with 1.5px end caps 18px tall. The typical value is a 3 x 22 px #111111 tick across the bar. Min and max figures sit 6px outside the bar ends. For ordinary value bars use the same 12px steel blue bars from zero.
- Line chart: one row per series is not needed; draw a 2px #4A78A6 line (2nd series #111111 dashed 5 3) on the same hairline grid, points as 5px squares, with a min/typ/max style readout column at the right.

Avoid: rounded corners, gradients, shadows, bright colors, legends floating in the plot, and any font other than the condensed sans.

When you're done, render the chart and check that every figure in the MIN/TYP/MAX columns matches its bar, the columns right-align, negative values use a true minus sign, and the header row labels sit exactly above their gridlines.
