Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Club Medals" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the closing medal table on a championship broadcast graphic. Charcoal ground, tall condensed capitals, metallic but flat gold, silver and bronze, and big white totals.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #151515 (charcoal).
- Segments: gold #D4AF37, silver #BFC5CC, bronze #B0703C. Counts inside in dark ink: #1A1405 on gold, #15181C on silver, #1C0E03 on bronze.
- Totals and title #FFFFFF; top-three names #FFFFFF, other names #D6D6D6; secondary text #9A9A9A; row rules #2A2A2A. Eyebrow and its 44 x 4 accent bar use #D4AF37.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Oswald for the eyebrow (500 13px uppercase, 2.4px letter-spacing), the title (600 34px, all caps, 0.5px letter-spacing, stating the finding), rank numbers (500 14px, zero-padded "01"), segment counts (600 14px), legend labels (500 13px uppercase) and totals (700 18px).
- Source Sans 3 for the subtitle (400 16px), category names (600 15px, 700 for the top three) and the source line (12px).

Layout:
- 48px side margins. Eyebrow at y 46 after the accent bar, title y 92, subtitle y 120. Legend of 7px radius dots right-aligned at y 152, and a "TOTAL" column head above the totals.
- Rank at x 48, name at x 80, bars from x 250 to 860, totals right-aligned at x 912. Rows 30px tall with 22px bars and a 1px #2A2A2A rule between rows. Footer rule at y 552, source at y 576.

Axes and grid:
- No axis, no gridlines: each segment carries its count and the total closes each row.

Marks:
- Bar chart: horizontal stacked bars, square corners, gold then silver then bronze, 2px dark gaps between segments, ranked by total (ties by gold count). Center each count in its segment.
- Line chart: 2.5px lines in gold, silver and bronze with 4px dots in the same color and a 2px charcoal ring, direct labels at line ends in Oswald 600 14px, and the latest totals in bold white at the right edge.

Avoid: gradients, bevels or shine effects on the metals, shadows, a white background, light text inside the segments.

When you're done, render the chart and check that rows are sorted by total, totals equal the sum of their segments, the counts are readable on all three metals, and the title's numbers match the data.
