Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Check-In Tags" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the monthly recap card of a friendly wellbeing app. Soft, rounded and kind: pastel pills, a warm white page and quiet gray numbers.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #FFFBF7 (warm white). Unfilled bar tracks: #F3ECE4. Title ink #43382F, secondary text and counts #8C8279.
- One pastel per category, matched to its meaning: #A8CC8C sage (calm), #8FB6EA sky (tired), #F5DC86 butter (hopeful), #F2966F peach (anxious), #C6ABE6 lilac (grateful), #7D8A99 slate (lonely). Each has a darker text tone for its tag pill: #3E6B2E, #2A5A8E, #7A5A0E, #8C3F20, #5B4390, #3F4A57.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Nunito throughout. Eyebrow 12px 800 uppercase with 2.4px letter-spacing in #8C8279 ("OCTOBER RECAP"). Title 32px 800 #43382F stating the finding. Subtitle 16px 400 #8C8279 with measure, total and the top share. Tag names 15.5px 700 in the category's dark text tone. Counts 16px 700 #8C8279. Footer 12px.

Layout:
- 56px margins. Eyebrow at y 70, title at 108, subtitle at 138.
- Rows 58px apart starting at y 180. Each row: a tag pill right-aligned to x 186 (height 32, radius 16, fill the category color at 32% opacity with a 1.2px stroke in the full color, width fitted to the word), then the bar from x 206.
- A 1.5px #F3ECE4 rule at y 548, "Source: illustrative data" left and a one-line note right at y 574.

Axes and grid:
- No axes, no gridlines and no tick labels: every bar has its count at the end.

Marks:
- Bar chart: horizontal fully rounded pill bars 30px tall (radius 15) sitting on a full-width pill track in #F3ECE4 to x 860; the bar fills in the category's pastel. Count 12px past the bar end, vertically centered. Sort largest first.
- Line chart: 3px smooth lines in the same pastels (a darker text tone for any line that needs more contrast), round caps, a 6px end dot, and each series named at its right end by the same tinted tag pill instead of a legend.

Avoid: saturated or neon colors, black text, square corners, gridlines, axis lines, and a separate legend (the pills are the labels).

When you're done, render the chart and check that every pill is readable at thumbnail size, counts never collide with the track end, colors match their feelings, and the top share in the subtitle is arithmetically right.
