Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Carrier Split" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a shipping-label dashboard on near-black. Heavy grotesque headline, a white-bordered label block with a barcode, three bright carrier colors and barcode strips as dividers.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #0C0C0C. Text and label block: #FAFAFA. Secondary text: #8A8A8A.
- Series: #F97316 (orange), #3B82F6 (blue), #22C55E (green). The eyebrow uses the orange.
- Gridlines: #232323; baseline #5A5A5A. Barcode dividers: #2B2B2B.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Archivo Black for the title (27px, #FAFAFA, stating the finding) and the label block figure (18px).
- Archivo for everything else: eyebrow 700, 12px uppercase with 2.4px letter-spacing; subtitle 400, 15px #8A8A8A; legend 600, 14px; tick labels 500, 12px; category labels 600, 13px; chip values 700, 12px; value labels 800, 11px in the series color; footer 12px.

Layout:
- Eyebrow at y 52, title at y 92, subtitle at y 120, 40px left margin.
- Top right: a shipping label block 176 x 96 with a 2px #FAFAFA border and a 1px rule under a header row ("SHIP SUMMARY" left, period right, 800 11px caps), a big summary figure, and a white barcode (bars 1 to 3px wide with 1 to 3px gaps) 24px tall.
- Legend row at y 146: 14px square swatches with names.
- A chip row at y 192 above the plot with a small caps row label ("ON-TIME") at left; plot from x 84 to 920 and y 236 to 500.
- Footer: source at left, a chip key at right (filled chip = meets target, outlined chip = below).

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal 1px #232323 gridlines at every 10 units, labels right-aligned left of the plot; a 1px #5A5A5A baseline.
- Between category groups, a rotated barcode strip as the divider: 8px wide, running the plot height, made of horizontal #2B2B2B bars 1 to 3px thick with 1 to 3px gaps.
- Category labels centered 24px below the baseline; the latest one in white, the rest gray.

Marks:
- Bar chart: grouped vertical bars, 20px wide with 3px gaps inside a group, 2px top radius, solid series colors. Value labels only on the latest group. Above each group, a 58 x 20 fully rounded chip with the group's rate: filled #FAFAFA with #0C0C0C text when it meets the target, outlined 1.5px #FAFAFA with white text when it does not.
- Line chart: 3px straight lines in the series colors with 7px square markers, the same barcode dividers between periods and the same chip row above; value labels at the line ends.

Avoid: gradients, glows, rounded cards, pastel tones, gridlines brighter than #232323, and letting the dividers compete with the bars.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the title does not run into the label block, the chips are centered over their groups, the growth figure in the title matches the data, and the barcode dividers stay subtle.
