Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Card Rarity" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the set review page from a trading card game's design team. Dark slate, clean geometric sans, rarity colors a collector recognizes at a glance, and a small geometric symbol badge above every column.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #16181D.
- Series in stack order, bottom to top: #7C8494 (common gray), #A8C5E2 (silver blue), #E3B23C (gold), #F26430 (orange). The rarest or most important category always goes on top in orange.
- Primary text and symbols: #EDEFF3. Secondary text: #8A8F9A. Gridlines: #2A2E36. Badge ring: #3A3F4A (gold #E3B23C for the highlighted column).
- Kicker and the highlighted total: #E3B23C.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Sora throughout. Kicker 11.5px 600 uppercase with 2.6px letter-spacing in gold; title 28px 700 #EDEFF3 with -0.6px letter-spacing, stating the finding; subtitle 15px 300 #8A8F9A.
- Segment values 12px 600 in #16181D inside the segment; small segments' values 11px 600 beside the bar in their own color; column totals 15px 700 (17px gold for the highlight); category names 13px 600 with a 11.5px secondary line beneath; legend 12.5px 500; source 11.5px 300.

Layout:
- Kicker at y 58, title at y 96, subtitle at y 124, 56px left margin. Legend right-aligned on the subtitle line: 11px squares with 2px radius, in stack order.
- Plot from x 100 to 904 with the baseline at y 512; source line at y 578.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal gridlines 1px #2A2E36 every 100 units, labels 12px #8A8F9A right-aligned. No axis lines, no vertical grid.

Marks:
- Bar chart: stacked vertical bars 62px wide with 2px gaps (page color showing through) between segments; only the top segment gets 3px rounded top corners. Label a segment inside when it is at least 22px tall, otherwise beside the bar. The column total sits 12px above the bar, and a symbol badge above that: an 18px-radius circle in the page color with a 1.2px ring, holding a simple 1.6px stroked geometric glyph (half sun with rays, double wave, crown, three-petal bloom, four-point star, arch) unique to each category.
- Line chart: one 2.5px line per series in the same four colors, with 5px dots at each point ringed 2px in #16181D; if the series are shares of a whole, prefer a stacked area with 2px page-colored separators instead. Symbol badges above the x labels, direct labels at the right end.

Avoid: gradients, glows, drop shadows, bevels, metallic foil effects, thick borders, and more than four rarity colors.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the stack gaps are even, every segment label fits its segment or sits clearly beside it, the symbol badges do not touch the totals or the legend, and the highlighted total is the one the title names.
