Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Candle Night" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a dark crypto trading terminal at night. Deep blue-black, a crisp electric lime price line, a coral indicator, faint steel-blue grid and monospaced numbers everywhere a trader reads a price.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #0B1020 (blue black). Panels and toggle track: #111831 with a 1px #1A2540 border; active toggle chips #1C2645.
- Primary series (price): #C6F432 (electric lime). Moving average or second series: #FF7A66 (coral). A third series, if needed: #6FB7FF.
- Gridlines: #1A2540 (steel grid), 1px. Right axis rule #26314D. Crosshair: #5B6B8F dashed.
- Volume or secondary bars: #2B3450; the bar under the crosshair #4A5678.
- Text: #E6EBF5 (title, readouts), #8391B3 (subtitle, axis labels), #56617E (inactive toggles, source).
- Readout boxes: #2A3656 fill with #E6EBF5 text. Last-price tag: solid #C6F432 with #0B1020 text.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Roboto Flex for words: title 21px 650 with -0.2px letter-spacing, stating the finding; subtitle 13px 400; toggles 12px (600 active, 500 inactive) with 0.3px letter-spacing; small caps labels ("VOL") 10.5px 600 with 1px letter-spacing; source 11px 400.
- Roboto Mono for every price, time and number: axis labels 11.5px 400, time labels 11px (500 for day starts in #E6EBF5), readouts 12 to 12.5px, last price headline 26px 700 in lime.

Layout:
- 40px margins. Title and subtitle top left. Under them an indicator toggle strip: a 30px track with 72px chips (e.g. MA 20, EMA 50, BOLL, VOL); active chips get a filled background and a 3.5px colored dot matching their line.
- Top right: the last price big in lime with the period change above it in 12px #8391B3 ("+8.4% 72H").
- The price plot spans x 40 to 852 with the price axis on the right. A volume strip about 60px tall along the bottom of the plot, separated by a gridline and labelled "VOL".
- Top left inside the plot, one monospaced readout line for the crosshair point: time, "C" close in lime bold, "MA20" in coral bold, volume in #E6EBF5.

Axes and grid:
- Full grid in #1A2540: horizontal lines at round prices, vertical lines every 12 periods. Price labels right of the plot; hide any label within 16px of a tag. Time labels under the plot, day starts emphasized; hide any within 90px of the crosshair time box.

Marks:
- Line chart: price as a crisp 2px straight-segment lime line (no smoothing), the moving average as a 1.6px coral line starting where the window fills. A dotted (2 3) lime line at 45% opacity across the plot at the last price, ending in a lime tag with an arrow notch pinned to the right axis (22px tall). A 3.5px lime dot on the last point. Crosshair: dashed (4 4) #5B6B8F vertical and horizontal lines, a 4.5px ring on the price, and #2A3656 readout boxes on both axes with 3px radius.
- Bar chart: slim bars at 62% of the band, lime for the primary series and coral for the second, no rounding (or 1px), the same grid, readouts and a lime tag for the latest value; negative values in coral below a #26314D zero line.

Avoid: smoothing, gradients under the line, glows, rounded friendly fonts, proportional digits, white backgrounds and more than three bright colors.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the moving average is computed on the right window, the headline change matches first and last values, no axis label hides behind a tag, and the lime line stays readable over the grid at thumbnail size.
