Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Campaign Lift" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a growth marketing readout that proves a campaign worked. Bright, clean and confident: one punchy fuchsia series against a quiet gray counterfactual, the campaign window called out like a media flight plan, and the payoff shown as a big number in a chip.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Canvas: #FFFFFF.
- Hero series (actuals) and all accents: #D1177E (fuchsia).
- Counterfactual / forecast / comparison series: #8B909A (gray), dashed.
- Campaign window band: #FDEBF5 (pale fuchsia).
- Lift hatching: #F08BC3 stripes on a #FBD9EB fill.
- Ink (title, flight bar, date labels): #1C1B22. Secondary text: #6B6E78. Source line: #9A9CA5. Gridlines: #ECECF0; baseline and ticks: #C9CAD2. Light text inside the chip: #FFD3EA.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Bricolage Grotesque 800 for the title (30px, -0.6px letter-spacing, #1C1B22, states the finding with the number) and the chip numeral (40px, -1px letter-spacing, white).
- Inter with tabular figures (font-variant-numeric: tabular-nums) for everything else: subtitle 15px #6B6E78 with measure, unit and period; axis labels 12px #6B6E78; direct series labels 14px (700 fuchsia for the hero, 500 gray for the forecast); small uppercase labels 10 to 11px 700 with 1.2 to 1.6px letter-spacing; source 12px.

Layout:
- 56px left margin. Title baseline at y 68, subtitle at y 98.
- Lift chip top right: a 232 x 78 rounded rectangle (rx 20) in solid fuchsia ending at the right margin. Inside: "+34%" in the big numeral on the left; on the right a column with "LIFT" (11px 700, 1.6px tracking, #FFD3EA), the absolute extra amount ("+3,200", 15px 700 white) and its unit ("extra signups", 11px #FFD3EA).
- Flight bar at y 140: a 24px tall pill (rx 12) in #1C1B22 spanning exactly the campaign window's x range, with a 5px fuchsia dot at its left end and the campaign name centered in white 11px 700 uppercase with 1.4px tracking. "LAUNCH" (fuchsia 10px 700) over the start date (13px 600 ink) sits right-aligned 10px left of the bar; "END" over the end date sits 10px right of it.
- Plot from x 72 to 820, y 196 to 510, leaving about 80px on the right for direct labels.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal gridlines 1px #ECECF0 at round values; the bottom baseline 1px #C9CAD2. Y labels right-aligned 10px left of the plot. No y-axis line.
- X ticks 5px long, 1px #C9CAD2, with date labels 22px below the baseline at weekly (or otherwise even) intervals.
- The campaign window band (#FDEBF5) fills the plot's full height, starting 12px above the plot top, from half a period before launch to half a period after the end.

Marks:
- Line chart: the hero series as a 3px fuchsia line with round joins and caps, straight segments, a 4.5px end dot with a 2px white ring. The counterfactual as a 2px #8B909A line dashed 6 on 5 off, drawn underneath. Inside the campaign window, fill the area between the two lines with a 45 degree hatch pattern: 7px tile, #FBD9EB background, 2.4px #F08BC3 stripes. Label the hatched area "Incremental lift" (12px 700 fuchsia) near the bottom of the band with a 1px fuchsia leader up to the forecast line. Label both series directly at their right ends (no legend box), nudging labels apart if they would touch.
- Bar chart: bars in #8B909A for periods outside the campaign and #D1177E inside it, square tops, about 60% of the band width; draw the counterfactual as a dashed 2px gray step line across the bars and hatch (same pattern) the part of each campaign bar that sits above it. Keep the window band, flight bar and lift chip.

Labels and annotation:
- The lift chip's numbers must be computed from the data: percentage = sum of (actual minus forecast) over the window / sum of forecast over the window; the extra amount is that sum, rounded sensibly.
- Source line at y 572: "Source: ..." in 12px #9A9CA5.

Avoid: a second saturated color, gradients, shadows, drop-down style legends, smoothing that invents peaks, a heavy frame around the plot, and hatching outside the campaign window.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the flight bar lines up exactly with the pink window band, the hatching sits only between the two lines inside the window, the chip math matches the data, and the title does not run into the chip.
