Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Bridge Flows" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a late-night cross-chain bridge monitor. Deep plum, wide confident caps, warm amber money coming in above a glowing zero line and magenta money going out below it.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #150E1E with a soft radial lift to #21162E in the center.
- Inflow / positive: #F2A93B (amber). Outflow / negative: #E0457B (magenta). Net marker: #FFFFFF dots with a 1.5px #150E1E ring.
- Zero rule: #FFD9EE, 1.4px, with a glow (blur stdDeviation 3.5 merged twice under the line).
- Text #F3E9F7; secondary #A08DB0; faint #6A5A7A. Dotted gridlines #2A1E38. Stat blocks #1D1428 with #35264A borders.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Unbounded in caps: title 25px 700 with 1px letter-spacing stating the net result, a second line 15px 500 with 2px letter-spacing in #A08DB0, stat values 22px 600 in their series color, footer tag 9.5px 500 with 1.5px letter-spacing.
- Red Hat Mono for subtitle (13px), legend (12px), axis values (11.5px), stat labels (10.5px 500, 1.2px letter-spacing) and callouts (12px 500).

Layout:
- 48px margins. Title block top left; the subtitle names the two chains joined by a drawn arrow (a 20px line with a 6px open head, 1.5px stroke) rather than an arrow character.
- Two corner stat blocks at the top right (150 x 72, radius 4, 3px colored left edge): "30D INFLOW" and "30D OUTFLOW" with totals.
- A one-line legend under the subtitle: amber and magenta 11px squares and a white dot "Net flow, positive on 19 of 30 days".

Axes and grid:
- Symmetric y range around zero with dotted gridlines (dash 2 4) and signed mono labels ("+15", "-15"). No other axis lines; the glowing zero rule is the baseline.
- Mono date labels at the start, every fifth day and the end.

Marks:
- Bar chart: diverging columns 16px wide (about 58% of the band), inflows up in amber with 3px rounded tops, outflows down in magenta with 3px rounded bottoms, both anchored on the zero rule; a white net dot (r 4) per day at inflow minus outflow. Callout the extreme day with a thin series-colored leader and mono label.
- Line chart: an amber line (2px) for inflows above zero and a magenta line for outflows mirrored below, each with a 12% area fill to the zero rule, and the net as white dots.

Avoid: green/red, gradients inside bars, drop shadows, more than one glow, arrow glyph characters, and a right-hand axis.

When you're done, render the chart and check that bars start exactly at the zero rule, the net dots equal inflow minus outflow, the stat totals match the headline net, and the zero glow is not clipped.
