Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Breath Pace" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the end-of-session screen of a guided breathing app at night. Hushed and slow: deep indigo, one glowing pale aqua line, whisper-quiet labels.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #14142B (deep indigo), with a soft radial halo of #2A2A5A at 90% opacity fading to transparent, centered at 62% across and 62% down, radius 70%.
- Data line: #9FE7E1 (pale aqua). Title and target label #ECEBFA; secondary text #A4A3C8; phase names and dividers #8E8CC2 (dusk lavender).
- Gridlines: #8E8CC2 at 14% opacity. Phase dividers #8E8CC2 at 45%.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Fraunces italic 400, 33px, #ECEBFA for the title stating the change ("Your breathing slowed from 14.2 to 5.9 breaths a minute"); Fraunces italic 14px for the right-hand footer note.
- Mulish for everything else: subtitle 15px #A4A3C8; axis labels 13px #A4A3C8; phase names 13px lowercase #8E8CC2 with 0.4px letter-spacing; target label 12.5px 600 #ECEBFA at 85%; source 12px.

Layout:
- 56px margins. Title at y 82, subtitle at 114. Plot from x 80 to 900, y 196 to 482.
- Phase names sit in a row at y 174, each 10px right of its divider; the first starts at the plot's left edge.
- Footer at y 568: source left, a quiet italic session label right.

Axes and grid:
- No axis lines. Three faint horizontal gridlines with y numbers right-aligned 12px left of the plot. Time labels ("0 min" ... "10 min") 26px below the plot, first left-aligned and last right-aligned.
- Phase boundaries: thin 1px vertical lines from 34px above the plot to its bottom.
- Target: a dotted 1.6px #ECEBFA line at 70% opacity (dash 0.1, gap 6, round caps, so it reads as dots), labeled "target pace, 6 per minute" right-aligned 22px below it.

Marks:
- Line chart: a very smooth monotone curve, 2.8px #9FE7E1 with round caps and NO markers. Glow: a copy of the path 7px wide at 75% opacity with a Gaussian blur of 7 behind it (filter region the full canvas). A faint area fill below: #9FE7E1 at 16% under the line fading to 0 at the bottom.
- Bar chart: slim bars (about 40% of the band) with fully rounded tops in #9FE7E1 at 85% opacity with the same soft glow behind them, no value labels except the first and last; the target as the same dotted line.

Avoid: markers, bright white, multiple accent colors, hard shadows, dense ticks, uppercase labels and anything that feels clinical.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the glow is not clipped, phase names do not collide with each other or the dividers, the target line reads as dots and the title numbers match the first and lowest values.
