Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Benefits Enrollment" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a friendly HR campaign dashboard during open enrollment. Warm pale rose, rounded headline type, a countdown chip that creates gentle urgency, and a single rose curve climbing toward a clear goal.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #FDF4F5 (pale rose). Ink #3B0A1A for the title and axis line, secondary text #8A6470, gridlines #F1DCE1.
- Data: #E11D48 (rose) for the line, markers, eyebrow and icons. #9F1239 (deep rose) for the goal line, goal pill and annotation text. #FBD5DC (blush) for the chip border and hatching.
- White #FFFFFF for the countdown chip and marker centers.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Nunito: title 800 31px #3B0A1A stating the finding; the countdown number 900 32px white; the latest value label 900 20px rose.
- Karla for everything else: eyebrow 700 12px uppercase with 1.8px letter-spacing in rose; subtitle 400 15px #8A6470; axis labels 400 12px #8A6470; annotations 700 12px #9F1239; the takeaway note italic 13px #9F1239; source 12px.

Layout:
- 56px side margins; eyebrow at y 48, title at y 88, subtitle at y 116.
- Countdown chip in the top right (x 740 to 904, y 34 to 102): white, 16px radius, 1.5px #FBD5DC border, holding a 48px rose rounded square (12px radius) with the remaining count in white, then "DAYS LEFT" (Karla 700 12px, 1.4px letter-spacing, rose) and a closing date line in 13px ink.
- Plot from x 104 to 880, y 172 to 470. The not-yet-elapsed part of the period is filled with a 45-degree blush hatch (2px lines every 8px) and labeled "REMAINING" in Karla 700 11px rose near its base.
- Below the axis: a one-line italic takeaway on the left and an envelope legend on the right; source at the bottom left.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal 1px #F1DCE1 gridlines at 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100%, labels right-aligned 14px left of the plot. No y-axis line. A 1.2px #3B0A1A baseline.
- Goal: a 1.6px #9F1239 dashed line (7 on, 5 off) across the plot, tagged at its left end with a #9F1239 pill (78 x 18, fully rounded) reading "GOAL 90%" in white Karla 700 10.5px.
- Event markers (reminder emails, launches): 20 x 14 px envelope outlines (1.6px rose stroke, 2.5px radius, page fill, a V flap) sitting 8px below the baseline, joined to the curve by a 1px rose dotted (2 on, 3 off) guide at 60% opacity.

Marks:
- Line chart: a 3.5px #E11D48 monotone smooth curve with round caps, over an area filled with a vertical gradient from rose at 22% opacity to 2% at the baseline. The day after each event gets a 4px white dot with a 2px rose ring and a "+7.7 pts" label. The latest point is a 7px rose dot with a 2.5px white ring and its value in Nunito 900 20px, haloed in the page color. A small bracket from the latest point up to the goal line with "6 pts to goal".
- Bar chart: rose #E11D48 columns with 6px top radius, the latest column full rose and earlier ones rose at 70%; the goal as the same dashed deep-rose line and pill; envelope icons under the columns where events happened; remaining periods as hatched empty slots.

Avoid: more than one data color, heavy borders, dark backgrounds, sharp square chips, and alarmist red text for the countdown (it should feel encouraging).

When you're done, render the chart and check that the countdown number, the title and the remaining hatch all agree, the gap-to-goal bracket is arithmetically right, and no annotation label touches the curve.
