Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Audience Poll" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the live polling screen at a company town hall. Deep navy auditorium screen, neon answer colors, numbers that jump as votes land, and a sense that it is happening right now.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #0C1433 (deep navy). Ticker band: #08102A with a 2px #26335F top edge.
- Series: cyan #2DD4F0, magenta #EC4899, lime #A3E635, in answer order.
- LIVE tag: #FF4D6D with white text. QR card: #FFFFFF with #0C1433 modules.
- Headline text: #FFFFFF. Secondary text: #8E9AC6. Dotted grid: #26335F. Source: #5E6A96.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Rubik throughout. Eyebrow 12px 600 uppercase with 2px letter-spacing in #8E9AC6. Question heading 32px 700 with -0.4px letter-spacing. Subtitle 15px 400 with measure, unit and window. Axis labels 12px 400. Pill values 16px 700 in #0C1433; answer names 14px 700 in their series color. "Vote now" 15px 700, code 12px 500. Ticker vote count 18px 700 uppercase; ticker text 14px 500.

Layout:
- 64px left margin. Eyebrow at y 62, question at y 108, subtitle at y 140.
- Top right: a LIVE pill (82 x 30, fully rounded, white dot r 4.5 with a faint 1.5px ring at r 10 to suggest a pulse) and to its right a 108px white QR card with 8px radius, three finder squares and a random module grid, with "Vote now" and the join code centered beneath.
- Plot x 88 to 716, y 196 to 488. End pills start at x 728; answer names at x 800.
- Ticker band across the bottom (y 538 to 600): the running vote total, the last-batch increase, the current lead, and the closing time, separated by middle dots; source right-aligned.

Axes and grid:
- Dotted grid both ways: 1.2px #26335F, dash 1.5 on 6 off with round caps, every 10% and every 2 minutes. Y labels every 20%, right-aligned at x 76; x labels as m:ss under the plot.

Marks:
- Line chart: step-after lines, 3px, with a soft glow (Gaussian blur 4 merged under the stroke). Each value holds flat until the next batch of votes arrives, then jumps vertically. Extend each line to the right edge and end it with a dot r 5. Beside it, a 62 x 30 fully rounded pill in the series color with the live percentage, then the answer name. Push pills apart to keep at least 36px between them. Rounded pill values must sum to 100.
- Bar chart: horizontal bars, one per answer, 36px tall with fully rounded right ends in the series color, drawn on a #26335F track; the percentage pill sits at the bar end and the answer name above the bar in its color.

Avoid: pastel colors, heavy axis lines, solid gridlines, legends separate from the lines, and static-looking layouts without the live tag or ticker.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the pills do not overlap, percentages sum to 100, the ticker numbers match the data, and the glow is not clipped.
