Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Auction Week" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a weekly property market bulletin read on a phone on Saturday night. Deep bottle green, a single mint line, a monospaced data voice and one big latest-week number.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #0F241C (bottle green). Card: #163328 with a 1px #7EE0B5 border at 25% opacity. Line, dots, band edges, eyebrow and chip: #7EE0B5 (mint). Headline and numerals: #EAF4EE. Secondary text: #A9C4B7. Muted text: #6F8D80.
- Target band fill: #7EE0B5 at 11% opacity with 1px edges at 35% opacity.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Bricolage Grotesque 700 for the headline (34px, -0.5px letter-spacing, #EAF4EE) and the card numeral (76px, -1.5px letter-spacing, with a 36px mint % suffix); 600 30px for the secondary card figure; 400 16px #A9C4B7 for the subtitle.
- DM Mono for figures and labels: eyebrow 12px 500 uppercase with 1.6px letter-spacing in mint; axis labels 12px; band label 11px lowercase ("strong market 70–80%"); card labels 11px uppercase; chip 13px 500; footnotes 11px.

Layout:
- 56px margins. Eyebrow, headline, subtitle at the top. Plot from x 84 to 652, top about 176, baseline about 470. The latest-week card fills x 692 to 904 at the same height, 12px radius.
- Numbered footnotes in one row under the x axis, then the source line.

Axes and grid:
- Faint dotted gridlines (1px #A9C4B7 at 28% opacity, 1 on 4 off, round caps) at 5-point steps outside the band; y labels with % suffix at left. A 1px baseline at 45% opacity, x ticks labeled "WK 1", "WK 13" and so on.

Marks:
- Line chart: a thin 1.6px mint line with a 2.4px mint dot at every period over the shaded target band; the latest point is a 4px mint dot with a 1.5px background ring inside a 7px mint halo at 20% opacity. Notable periods get a numbered footnote marker: a 9px circle outlined in #A9C4B7 with the number inside, hung 26px below the point on a short leader.
- Bar chart: slim 6px mint columns (2px radius) per period with the target band behind them, columns outside the band at 55% opacity, and the same footnote markers.
- Card: "WEEK 52 | LATEST", the big numeral, a 28px tall fully rounded mint chip with a background-colored triangle and the week-on-week change ("+2.4 pts w/w") in the background color, a divider, then the period average and prior value.

Avoid: thick lines, area fills under the line, solid gridlines, and more than one accent hue.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the headline count of periods inside the band is right, the chip delta equals latest minus prior, and footnote markers do not collide with the line or axis labels.
