Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Absorption Curve" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a development pipeline slide for a luxury residential project. Graphite, brass and cream: an elegant display serif, a staircase of supply and a curve of demand.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #1B1D1F (graphite). Brass: #B08D57 for the supply step line, phase tags, the card border and the eyebrow. Pale cream: #F1E9D8 for the demand line, headline and big numerals.
- Gap fill: #B08D57 at 26% opacity. Body text: #CFC6B4 (warm ivory). Muted text: #8E877B. Gridlines: #2C2F32; baseline and ticks: #5A554D.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Italiana 400 for the headline (46px, cream, the finding) and the card numeral (52px cream).
- Hanken Grotesk for everything else: eyebrow 12px 600 uppercase with 2.8px letter-spacing in brass; subtitle 15px ivory; axis labels 12-13px; phase tags 11px 600 uppercase with 0.8px letter-spacing; end labels 13px 600 in the series color; card label 11px 600 uppercase brass with 2px letter-spacing; source 12px muted.

Layout:
- 56px margins. Eyebrow, headline and subtitle at the top left; a 204 x 110 px card at the top right with a 1px brass border and no fill, holding "MONTHS OF SUPPLY", the numeral and a one-line explanation.
- Plot from x 88 to 840, top about 196, baseline about 486; end labels to the right of the plot. Footer rule at y 548 and source line below.

Axes and grid:
- 1px #2C2F32 horizontal gridlines at round values, labels right-aligned at left. Year labels centered in each year, with 6px ticks at year boundaries. No vertical grid.

Marks:
- Line chart: cumulative supply as a 2.5px brass step line (vertical risers at each launch); cumulative demand as a smooth 2.5px cream monotone curve; fill the region between them in translucent brass and label it "UNSOLD" in 11px cream with 2px letter-spacing where the gap is widest. Tag each riser with a 94 x 20 px graphite box with a 0.8px brass border reading "PHASE 2 +140", placed just above the new step (right-aligned before the riser if it would clip). A 3.5px cream dot ends the demand curve.
- Bar chart: paired columns per period, a brass outline column (1.5px stroke, 26% brass fill) for launched and a solid cream column for sold, with phase tags above launch periods.

Avoid: bright colors, glows, heavy gridlines, a legend box, and letting demand exceed supply.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the demand curve never crosses above the step line, the months-of-supply figure equals unsold units divided by the recent monthly sales pace, and no phase tag clips or overlaps a line.
