Determine whether the observed ablation pattern—domain knowledge contributing more than specialized scaffolding while generic-harness repair remains decisive—holds for solvers with sparser public tutorial material and for CAE tasks requiring domain-specific tool integrations.

Background

The scripted-reflection and repair-budget ablations were conducted only on FoamBench, while the tutorial-access ablation covered three benchmark suites. The paper therefore does not establish whether its findings generalize to simulation solvers that provide less publicly available instructional material or to tasks involving specialized integrations that a generic coding-agent harness may not support. These settings are important because they may favor domain-specific agent scaffolding.
