Generalization of SkillReducer to Other Agent Platforms
Determine whether the SkillReducer framework—and its routing-layer description compression and Stage 2 progressive disclosure restructuring—generalizes beyond the Anthropic skill protocol to other LLM agent platforms such as Cursor and Windsurf, preserving or improving routing behavior and task performance under their distinct skill mechanisms, tool registries, and system prompts.

All 600 skills use the skill protocol proposed by Anthropic; generalization to other platforms (Cursor, Windsurf) remains untested.
Terminal, web, and software-engineering agents impose different retrieval demands, and whether the observed parity survives in those settings is open. Independently built skill-retrieval benchmarks such as SkillRet, which pairs 16,129 public agent skills with 4,392 evaluation queries (Kang et al., 2026), are the natural targets for testing whether the recipe transfers, and we leave that to future work.
Whether this pattern transfers to other growing-library agent systems remains an empirical question.
