Despite the advances made on both full LQG and LQC, the implementation of the dynamics and the search of a semiclassical sector of the theory (that would relate the theory with smooth solutions to the Einstein's equation) remain as the main open problems of the theory.
It is argued in Ref. that, since the ordering ambiguities come with $\delta (0)$, it should be ignored, as is done with dimensional regularization; however, the definitive treatment of this issue remains an open question .
Yet, the construction of the continuum limit of the theory is an open issue, and the question of how the effective smooth spacetime emerges from the loop quantum theory remains open.
