Determine whether interventions improve calibrated reliance on financial AI advice

Determine whether interventions that improve financial knowledge, source-verification skills, or risk comprehension change how users appraise financial advice and translate Trust into Reliance over time.

Background

Financial literacy, AI literacy, and risk tolerance were measured as individual characteristics rather than experimentally manipulated variables. Their associations with advice appraisals and moderation of the Trust–Reliance relationship therefore cannot establish causal effects.

The open problem is to evaluate whether targeted interventions can alter users’ appraisal processes and improve the translation of Trust into appropriate Reliance, rather than merely increasing trust or reliance.
