Physical-hardware noise tolerance

Determine whether the composite spiking oscillator’s tolerance to noise and parameter perturbations extends to implementations on physical neuromorphic hardware.

Background

The simulations show that the composite oscillator retains detectable spiral behavior under rotational noise and substantial perturbations of its temporal parameters. These findings establish robustness within the modeled computational environment, but they do not establish that the same robustness will hold in a physical neuromorphic implementation.

The proposed hardware implementation would therefore test whether the mechanism’s noise tolerance survives the additional variability and physical constraints of neuromorphic chips.
