Improve grounding and coverage in extract–verify–refine enrichment

Establish more reliable grounding and coverage for the textual enrichment fields produced by MIDR’s extract–verify–refine pipeline.

Background

MIDR uses an extract–verify–refine loop to check generated enrichment fields against rendered page images and extracted text before indexing. Although verification and refinement reduce unsupported or inconsistent content, the authors acknowledge that the resulting enrichment still faces unresolved grounding and coverage issues. These issues concern both whether generated fields accurately reflect page evidence and whether important retrievable information is adequately represented.

The extract--verify--refine loop reduces unsupported and inconsistent fields before indexing, but grounding and coverage remain open challenges.
