Characterize alternative low- and no-code development tools and AI’s long-term role

Investigate which alternative low- or no-code tools can support development with Social.Wiki and determine what role artificial intelligence should play in Social.Wiki sites intended for long-term use rather than rapid prototyping.

Background

The hackathon used AI-assisted “vibe coding” to help participants create Social.Wiki sites quickly, but participants differed in their assessments of the approach. The paper explicitly leaves unresolved both the design of alternative development tools for people with little or no coding experience and the appropriate role of AI in durable, long-term Social.Wiki sites.

It is an open question as to what alternative low/no-code tools might be created for development and what role AI will play in the sites intended for long-term use rather than rapid prototypes.
