Test Social.Wiki and plural governance at scale

Determine whether the Social.Wiki system design and its plural-governance model remain effective when deployed at a scale substantially larger than the current deployment of approximately one hundred users.

Background

The paper reports a functional deployment with roughly one hundred users, but this population is very small compared with the scale of the web. The authors state that the deployment has not yet provided evidence about whether Social.Wiki’s technical architecture or its model of plural governance can operate effectively at scale, making large-scale evaluation an explicit unresolved question.

References

While Social.Wiki is a functional and deployed system, our base of a hundred or so users is tiny compared to the existing web. Therefore, we have yet to see whether its system design or model of plural governance works at scale.
