Higher-dimensional mixed-state Rabin oblivious transfer

Investigate whether further increasing the dimension of the quantum states used in mixed-state Rabin oblivious-transfer protocols produces protocols that outperform the presented protocols in particular parameter regions.

Background

The paper compares two mixed-state protocols inspired by a classical probabilistic strategy: one based on a single-qubit pure-state protocol and another based on an extended two-qubit mixed-state protocol. Their relative performance depends on the success probability and Alice’s cheating probability. The authors leave unresolved whether extending the state dimension further could yield additional improvements in some regions of the performance space.

This raises the question of what would happen if we looked to further expand the dimension of the quantum states and if this would outperform the protocols discussed here in certain regions.
