Establish the effect of additional calibrated views on sparse-view ambiguity

Determine whether adding additional well-calibrated camera views reduces sparse-view ambiguity in the static 3D Gaussian reconstructions released by 3DROID.

Background

3DROID reconstructs each static scene from four exterior views and evaluates geometry only where robot-surface or stereo support is available. Additional views could potentially provide stronger constraints on surfaces that are weakly observed in the current sparse-view setup.

The authors explicitly state that they do not isolate the effect of additional well-calibrated views, leaving unresolved whether increasing view coverage would reduce sparse-view ambiguity in the reconstruction pipeline.

References

Additional well-calibrated views may reduce sparse-view ambiguity, but we do not isolate this effect.
