Determine the dynamics of turbulence within the TADAF

Determine the dynamics of turbulence within the turbulent advection-dominated accretion flow and establish how those dynamics govern the observed variability of the accretion flow, radiation, jets, and outflows.

Background

The paper models the accretion flow as an outer thin disk surrounding an inner turbulent advection-dominated accretion flow (TADAF) torus. Its phenomenological interpretation of GRS 1915+105 relies on changes in the turbulence parameter and TADAF size, but the underlying turbulent dynamics are not derived. A quantitative theory of those dynamics is therefore needed to replace the paper’s semi-analytical description and to connect the model parameters to the observed variability.

References

The dynamics of the turbulence within the TADAF is virtually unknown at present and needs further study.
