Confirm deuterated molecular species in G+0.633

Determine whether the deuterated species DCN, DNC, DCO+, and N2D+ are present in the G+0.633-0.0604 molecular cloud by obtaining observations capable of resolving their currently inconclusive identifications.

Background

The paper identifies G+0.633-0.0604 as an exceptionally chemically rich Galactic Centre molecular cloud and compares its molecular inventory with that of G+0.693. Although the survey detects more than 120 molecular species and numerous isotopologues, the authors report that several deuterated molecules could not be conclusively identified in the present data.

The unresolved identification of DCN, DNC, DCO+, and N2D+ is scientifically important because measurements of these species would constrain deuterium fractionation and provide a diagnostic of the early stages of star formation in G+0.633. The authors indicate that further observations, particularly in the unexplored frequency bands, are needed to address this uncertainty.
