Interpolating between single and double trace by moving LST into the bulk
Abstract: We describe a large class of theories that continuously interpolate between single and double trace deformations of AdS/CFT. It is obtained by starting with the spacetime , which interpolates between AdS in the IR and a linear dilaton spacetime in the UV, and imposing a UV cutoff on the radial direction. When the cutoff is deep in the AdS region of , this leads to double trace . When it goes to infinity, we recover the single trace deformed theory. We present a large class of possible boundary conditions on the dilaton, and compute the resulting black hole spectrum in a few examples. In all these constructions, to leading order in the low energy expansion, the resulting spectrum is that of a single double trace deformed CFT, but at higher orders the different theories have different spectra. In one of the examples that we analyze, the full theory is single double trace deformed CFT. Another gives rise to an interesting spectrum, that consists of an infinite set of energy bands.
