Active Galactic Nuclei as High-Energy Neutrino Sources

Published 5 Nov 2015 in astro-ph.HE and hep-ph | (1511.01590v2)

Abstract: Active galactic nuclei (AGN) are believed to be promising candidates of extragalactic cosmic-ray accelerators and sources, and associated high-energy neutrino and hadronic gamma-ray emission has been studied for many years. We review models of high-energy neutrino production in AGN and discuss their implications for the latest IceCube observation of the diffuse neutrino intensity.
